We LOVED the tacos here! So much interesting flavor and perfectly balanced. My favorite was Mango Love while my wife loved hers Fresco style. Highly recommended and will definitely return when we are in town again. Quick tip - we discovered that the sour cream is on the sweet side rather than sour. Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies and interesting flavors here to satisfy the veg-heads Kid-friendliness: Casual inside with delicious crinkle-cut french fries on the menu - what more do you need?
Really delicious food, friendly staff, but not the best location. I had the spicy pork burrito with their recommended fixin's and some of the creamy spicy mayotta sauce. It was absolutely delicious, one of the better fusion burritos I've tasted. I also sampled the Tex Mex egg rolls with chicken, corn, black bean, roasted red peppers, onion, and cheese accompanied with cilantro ranch dip. It was also really tasty. I imagine the other things on the menu are quite good too but I am not sure I'll be back because it's a bit of a trek for me, and on a random corner in NE. Definitely recommended if you're close by, and saw tons of locals pick up orders to go from there.
It’s really interesting to read all these wonderful reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was so disappointing that I’m actually writing a review. I was really excited to try them out and was disappointed by how dirty it was when I came in. There was trash left near the ordering kiosk like someone ate their food there and left the rest and food on another table that could have easily been wiped up. My food, honestly, just tasted burnt and flavorless. I ordered 3 tacos: chicken, shrimp, and steak; and all three meats were well over cooked. I ordered the sauces and pico de gallo on the side so my tortillas wouldn’t be soggy and even those didn't fix it. Come to think of it, they were flavorless too. The prices online are different than they are in store but it doesn’t matter because everything online is out of stock. They do not answer there phones so ordering ahead was not an option either. The cashier was really kind though so two stars for her! I’m the kind of person to try just about anything twice, but it’ll be a while, IF ever decide to try them again.
I typically don’t like dc food spots and I think tacos are overrated BUT this place is actually really good and I’d come back. I ordered the beef, grilled shrimp, grilled octopus, and fried fish. They were all good but I like the first three the best.
UPDATE 4/23/21: adding a star back. Why? Because they’ve picked up the quality and consistency of the takeout food. Have ordered 3 more times since last year and have enjoyed it very time. Solid ameri-Tex like Mexican egg rolls and tacos that satisfy the taste buds but destroy your calorie count. UPDATE 1/4/20: dropping a star. Here’s why: Very significant decline in quality and volume of food since our last two experiences. We have ordered food from here three times, all delivered through Yelp i.e. grub hub. Really disappointing because it was one of our favorite places. Quantity: There used to be two egg rolls per order. Now one. And the one we received was noticeably less stuffed with food. Quality: Everything we ordered was of lower quality than the past two times. The fried egg roll was soft and chewy. The pork belly was so hard to chew i gave most of it to our dog. Both orders of tacos were slightly cold when they arrived.
Amazing food. Cooked fresh and tasty. Small spot, but clean and comfortable. So good went back the next day.Food: 5/5
This is where I go for my cheat meal every week! The food is exceptional and they don’t stiff you on the portions. Every time family comes to visit me I bring them here. Now, when I go home they ask me to load my suitcase with Far East taco lol
The place is clean, a little bit away from the rest of the bustling market. The tacos me and my wife ordered were great - they had a big selection of meats and accessory food items to place on your tacos. We also ordered some chips and salsa - this was a ridiculous $5.75 so I expected something exceptional. Nope, a small bag of chips and some pre made salsa. It’s highly irregular so see such a upcharge on a item that customarily free at Mexican places.
If you need a break from your standard taco, try Far East Taco Grill. It's Korean and Mexican fusion. In concept, it's set up like a fast casual restaurant where you pick between a bowl, burrito, etc. and then move to picking a meat, toppings, dressings, etc. Their tacos are $2.50 or so and not small so if you need a snack, go with that. The bowls are really good too and make you feel like you're eating something slightly more healthy. Kimchi fries- stay away. It sound good, but are too much. Always pick the bulgogi or spicy pork for the meat!
Great food with very bold flavors. I tried the 3 taco combo and I loved that you can try more than one protein then top it off with a variety of different sauce options as well as topping combinations, which you can mix and match as you please.
