Decided to try Fernandez Shoe Repair because it was nearby and had good reviews. I brought in a pair of Herring dress shoes that had a hole on the sole. The owner gave me a few options: patch up the sole cheaper option or get them completely resoled of which I decided on the latter. Also asked about the pair I had on and he said that they could be worn an additional 3 months and didn't need to be resoled. When I went a couple of days later to pick them up, one of the employees showed me the work completed on them to include the shoe shine. Because I was thoroughly impressed, I brought in another pair to get resoled. Def. recommend this place.
Recently brought about 3 pairs of boots and 2 pairs of high heels to get fixed and shined. Team there was super nice and efficient. When I picked up my pairs, they actually asked me to check and ensure I was hoping with the outcome. Amazing service and reasonably priced. Will go back again when I need a shoe shine or a pair of leather shoes to get repaired.
For years, I had been going to a different shoe repair shop that's 2 blocks away from Fernandez, but the restaurant next door to it had a fire, so as a result all the shops on that block had to be closed. Therefore, I decided to try Fernandez and brought my $400 shoes to them to apply a rubber half-sole. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a cold stare from the female employee behind the counter. I ignored it and asked in a friendly tone whether they do half-soles and how much it would cost. She turned to a man that was working on the side presumably the owner and directed me to him. I repeated my question to him. Clearly impatient and not wanting to deal with me, he pointed to a price list that was posted on a wall way above anyone's line of vision about 10 feet high where I was supposed to determine the price myself. Before I could inquire further, he had already turned his back to me and continued working. I promptly exited the store and will not be returning. No way I'm handing over my $400 shoes to people who treat customers this way. As for the price, it's $35+ for a rubber half-sole. The guy on Church St had been charging me $20.
They are a bunch of rip off artists. I went there and they charge me $14. When I found out they charge $5.00. So ask before you shine.
Worst customer service I’ve ever received having shoes fixed. I was hoping to become a regular due to its convenient location, but will now go out of my way to give avoid this man’s rudeness. On drop off he silently and begrudgingly accepted my shoes, and on pick up, outright lied about “what he told me” when I questioned what happened to the now ruined shoes. Additionally, had the service even been good, the prices are higher than average.
I have been going to Fernandez for too many years to remember. He is the best. Always honest about recommendations on repair - what will work, what won't, what it will look like when complete. Fixes heel lifts, broken heels, puts rubber soles on my shoes, fixes my handbags an even takes inches off my tall boots. Always on time. Delivers for me. The best!
Please Aviod this place ! This place did a bait and switch. I dropped off two shoes to be resoled. The price was $100 for both and clearly stated on the ticket along with a $60 dollar deposit and $40 balance. When I picked them up and handed the cashier the ticket he walked into a back room laughing and came back saying the total was $200 not $100 and didn’t want to show me the ticket. Once he did I saw that he had written a 1 in front of the $40 remaining balance to change it to $140. I argued to no avail. I have the ticket so I’ll be filing a complaint with the Better Busy Bureau.
Fernandez consistently does a great job on making my shoes brand new again. From heals, soles, inserts and polish. The work is very high quality.
Good work adding taps to my boots! Don’t usually pay $5; hopefully, they last!
