Ferris Acres Creamery

Asked for recommendations for ice cream from our hostess and she said we had to go to Ferris Acres. It was a cool 55 degree evening in May, but there was STILL a 15 minute wait for ice cream! It did throw me off a bit that they didn't offer samples (I didn't ask though, but it just seems faux pas to ask), but the ice cream was phenomenal. Their waffle cones were delicious and so crunchy, which is not what I usually get when ordering homemade waffle cones. They have SO many flavors, but every one is like a party in your mouth. A touch on the pricey side, but so worth it!

Beautiful location and really delicious ice cream. And cows! But seriously, really good ice cream, lots of flavors. I recently saw a newspaper article that mentioned that Ferris Acres Creamery had been listed by some travel authority as among the top ten ice cream destinations in the whole United States. I was impressed, but not surprised!

This is the place to get ice cream. We travel out of the way for a stop. They have a wide selection of sundaes, with the option to make your own sundaes. Their hard or soft ice cream are equally good. The line moves quickly so don't be daunted. The parking lot accomodates a good number of cars and has ample seating and trash bins dotted around.

What can I say... when you can see the cookies the milk comes from (and smell the cow poop), you know your ice cream is going to be creamy and rich. Lots of flavors to choose from, gluten free toppings are great for kids that usually have to go without. Normally would have taken a picture but I couldn't wait to dig in, so good, though I did regret indulging for the rest of the day ;)

I would drive out of my way to go and get this ice cream. It's the best ice cream I've had in the state of Connecticut and the variety of the choices probably one of the best I've seen. Another reason why I love it is because I can bring my dogs and they can enjoy some ice cream as well. The only thing that I hate about it is the parking lot. They need to invest in some more space or a better way to get in and out. Other than that nothing against the ice cream
