First National Center

Story

The First National Center, formerly known as First National Bank Building, is a prominent skyscraper in downtown Oklahoma City. The art deco tower is 446 feet (136 m) tall at the roof, and is 493 feet (150 m) at its spire and contains 33 floors. The building was constructed in 1931 by the First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City and has 990000sqft of office space. First National Center is currently the third tallest building in Oklahoma City, after the Devon Tower and Chase Tower, respectively. The tower is the sixth tallest building in the state of Oklahoma. The tower has a notable architectural resemblance to the Empire State Building in New York City. The First National Center is connected to adjacent buildings in the downtown area via the Oklahoma City Underground series of tunnels and elevated walkways. In 2007, the building had a 40% occupancy rate. By 2016, the occupancy rate had dropped to less than 20%.HistoryThe owner of the building was the First National Bank Corporation for use by the First National Bank and Trust Company of Oklahoma City. The bank's president E.P. Johnson and stockholders S.M. Gloyd, W.T. Hales, H.R. Hudson, R.A. Vose, and H.M. Johnson comprised the building's ownership and underwrote the construction. The cost of the building was $5 million.

Tellers restaurant is in a breathtakingly beautiful setting. Located in the historic, recently restored First National Bank building built in 1931, this woodfired Italian grill is not to be missed. Really nice food and impeccable service from Jessica. She was extremely knowledgeable about the food and the building restoration. We got the Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe with chicken & mushrooms, the sirloin with a very nicely cooked asparagus and a delicious praline chocolate cake. All very good. Because it was Wednesday, there was live music which added to our experience. This is not a quick in and out. Be prepared to dine and enjoy the ambience!
Lovely dinner at Tellers with live music on a Wednesday evening. Sarah, our waitress was amazing and gave a lovely experience. The surrounding staff were friendly and welcoming. The building is gorgeous and the all around experience will be a must do for OKC enthusiasts for a great night out with your family and or friends.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

I was looking so foward to seeing and experiencing the remodeled First National Center. Myself and my girlfriend stoped by April 23, 2022 at about 4:30 pm that Saturday afternoon. We sat at the main bar where we were completely ignored for at least fifteen minutes or more. Every bartender looked at us and did not say a thing to us, finally someone stoped by and ask what did we what. No Hello Welcome to the First National or anything. Ordered a regular coffee and a cappuccino bartender was not sure if they have cappuccinos. He did check and came back with our order which was about the highlight of our visit. Not sure if the bartenders did not want to be there that day to work or if it was lack of basic bartending 101. I'm NOT a bartender or in the food and beverage industry but I think I could have done a better job that day. Also had dirty dishes and glasses sitting next to us almost the whole time and when someone did pick them up they did not care to wipe the dirty bar counter top down. I was every disappointed in the over all experience. I don't write reviews but I definitely felt like someone needs to know. NOT in a hurry to go back or recommend to anyone I know.
The service was excellent. The ambiance was wonderful. It isn’t cheap by all means so expect to pay more for what you get. The food was okay, no wow factor. But it wasn’t bad. Still we had a good experience overall.
This is one of those places for people with more money then good since. Looked at the price and just decide to leave. The food is overprice and so are the rooms when all you need is a place to lay your head for the night.
The yellowfin tuna is one of the best entrees I’ve had in recent memory. The service on the times I’ve been has been very good, despite the fact that they’ve only been open a couple of weeks. Excellent for breakfast, too.
I basically paid 175 dollars to get food poisoning. Avoid the lunchtime rigitoni . The place was out of several food options and they couldn’t even make one of their signature cocktails. And yes I’m serious about the food poisoning. NOT a good experience.
There for a private event. Sound really travels. Renovations in the public area look good.
