We have bringing our kiddo here for a year. I cannot say enough good things about the staff here. Genuinely warm, wonderful people that not only teach, but care, and wrangle. We haven't met an instructor we didn't love here.
If you're looking for your child to develop this life skill, I would absolutely encourage anyone to contact the fish factory.

After almost two years at this facility, I can attest that management does NOT value input from parents, as "Ashley Burns, Owner" claims in another review. Scheduling is always problematic, make-up lessons can take a month to schedule, wait lists for classes are long, and no effort is made to align closures of the facility with major holidays because it is inconvenient for their billing system. While I enjoyed the classes and instructors, the owner apparently feels she has enough of ABQ's market share that she doesn't need to be responsive to family needs; her canned response is, "find another facility that meets your needs" (because we don't need to), which she expressed to the reviewer above, and also to me, when I dared to express my frustration that the facility was open on the Saturday of a long holiday weekend, but closed the following weekend when most families would have returned from travel. As consumers of a service, expect good customer service, which you will not receive from Ashley Burns.

This is absolutely the best place if your child is a nervous swimmer! My 3yo daughter did not want to go back after her first lesson, begged me in fact. After 6 weeks she gained so much confidence, she asked when she got to go back. She's been attending 6 months now and is floating on her back and able to do a clumsy freestyle, her confidence is what amazes me. You can see from the viewing area that the coaches are smiling, giving high fives and praise. The deck coach is always present and watchful, the ratios of adult to child swimmers are extremely safe. I've gone from wondering how my little girl would ever learn to swim to feeling such joy while watching her swim. I'm on wait lists to get her in more times
Their teaching strategy works. The facility is clean. Everyone is positive, and most importantly it is fun!

I cannot say enough good things about Fish Factory! I have been taking my two children (ages 7 and 5) there for 7 months now. One child was terrified of water and wouldn't let his face get wet. The staff was patient and understanding, and helped him get over his fear. He willingly puts his face in the water every time! The other child did not like being away from mom and going with strangers. The staff was fantastic about working with her and making her feel comfortable. She now loves to go into the pool and could care less that she is leaving me. The lessons teach survival skills and are designed in a very easy step-wise manner so the previous lesson builds upon the next. The student-to-teacher ratio is a max of 3-to-1, which means each child gets the individual attention they need. I have never had any complaints with any of the instructors, and all of the staff are always so friendly and know us by name. The biggest endorsement, however, is that my children LOVE Fish Factory! Highly recommended!!

Worth every penny. My kiddo can swim after just a short amount of time with instruction. I wish there were more openings & time options as we waited 1 year on the wait list. I'd like to switch days/times but it's imoossible.
