Membership in the FSPA has proven to be one of the best business decisions we made. Even before becoming a member, the FSPA staff has provide professional advice on the industry, required licenses and certifications, and the correct way of achieving licensing. The FSPA ultimate goal is to bring credibility to an industry that is riddled with frauds and crooks, and encourage legitimacy through licensing and best practices from its members. Recently, the industry helped settle an issue with the state regarding electrical connections from the pool subpanel forward. For years, licensed florida pool pros have been saving consumers money by connecting all electrical connections post subpanel. However, an zealous inspector recently threatened that capability. The FSPA tirelessly worked with the state, the electricians board, and its members to protect this capability. If this would have failed, it would have cost the consumer hundreds of dollar for each pool and pool electrical repair needed. This was a win for the professionals in the industry as well as the end consumer. The FSPA provides valuable educational and continuing education credits to its members - encouraging best practices - and supporting the consumer/contractor relationship as a mutual beneficial agreeement.
