We are a family restaurant in Columbia, SC. The restaurant is owned by Anthony Taylor and managed by his mother, Minnie Morris. Vito Williams is Stocker.
Food Gallery Restaurant has long served up foods originated from traditional slave and Southern cuisine, including oxtails, stewed turkey wings, collard greens, pork chops and cheese & macaroni. Anthony Taylor, opened the Food Gallery in 1991 in a small store at 3702 River Dr. located in downtown Columbia, a predominately African American neighborhood. Anthony had been inspired by his mother, Minnie Taylor who in the 80's and early ‘90's ran a sandwich cafe and convenient store from the same location and gradually began to include southern cuisine which was highly favored by the local community.
One of the oldest African-American restaurants in Columbia, South Carolina, the Food Gallery dishes out delicious soul food to the table for a diverse mix of customers, working-class and professionals to politicians, entertainers, tourists, as well as its regular customers and neighborhood residents. The Taylor's truly keep every inch of its kitchen authentic by employing family and community staff that believe in every ingredient without change or adjustment. From every oven baked cake to hand chopped collard the cuisine at this state favorite pleases crowds both locally and commuters from Grenville, Charleston and Georgia to name a few.
Now it is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner From 11-7 and until 6pm on Sundays.
