My sister went there and it saved her life (AND OURS). She has been sober over a year which is a miracle compared to her experience at other "treatment centers." She said it was FINALLY a place where she wasn't just a number or paycheck to the staff. I remember our relationship was rocky when she went there, but she would call and tell me about working with horses and trips to Fort Desoto to paddle board and it seemed like she really began to change. I give all credit to Footprints Beachside Recovery for her amazing transformation. Thank you so much for giving me my big sister back!

Footprints is a place of extreme serenity. Any person who is serious about a new way of life, you can find it here. They gave me all the tools to turn my life around, become a better father, person, and find inner peace. They keep it small and focus attention on each individual, so you don't get lost in the mix. It's a family environment, with caring staff. I wouldn't recommend any other place! Footprints changed my life! I love you guys, John, Jared, Phil, Brian, Josh, Maggie, Shane you are all guardian angels!

Footprints showed me the change I needed to better my life.
I found Footprints on the internet, I didn’t really know what I was in for as I had never been to rehab before. What I came to see at footprints was genuine people that care about recovery. It is owned and operated by family. I really don’t even know where to start with how much each and everyone there helped me. The staff that work there are knowledgeable and caring and want success out of each person there. The days are well organized for group therapy and the meetings they take the clients to are still the same ones I go to now.
The structure of group sessions and one on one are laid out well, they also have a weekly afternoon trip somewhere fun and once a month a day trip.
Footprints taught me how to get sober but most importantly how to stay sober. I practice what I learnt there on a daily basis and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. They took the time to really learn about me and so could help me in the way I didn’t know how.
I couldn’t recommend footprints more highly than I do. It’s the staff that make a place what it is and footprints has the best of the best people who genuinely want to help, and know how!
Jon, Jerad, Josh, Taylor, Shane, Phil and more that make up what footprints is, I couldn’t thank you more, you played the biggest part in the biggest change in my life.

I'm sure there are other places one could attend rehab. But I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else. It was my fist, and my last time in rehab. And I think that's probably how one would like it to be. It is a good thing. John and the team there provide a very intimate experience. It's been a couple of years now and I am thankful everyday that I had the good fortune to come across Footprints. I've since completed both my associates and bachelors degrees and landed a great job. John was one of the first people to congratulate me. It's nice to know that these people still have my back should I ever need anything at all.
They put you in touch with a great network of people, all ages all backgrounds. The Mens quarters are like a very nice house. No hospital or sterile settings here.
, Plus, it's right on the beach!
It was a great opportunity to live as roommates and neighbors and when I was there. A typical day... Consists of making your bed. Going to a group session. Then, Men and Women will then do there own things. There are a couple hours to grab some food, hit the gym. Come back for another group activity.. Good conversations definitely take place..
Some down time followed by a very nice AA meeting. Large, clean venues. Pretty cool ones actually. And some pretty well off people that one may not expect to find, but they are there. They, along with everyone, have wisdom to share. Venues change daily and always offer new insights.
It was a chance for me to tackle an issue of alcoholism in my family. And I have since found myself living a straight and healthy life and Footprints was one of the biggest contributors to that.

This is a decent small rehab. However, there needs to be some REAL training in addiction, behavior therapy/modification, Cultural Sensitivity, and environmental awareness. If you have a young Caucasian child experiencing addiction, this might be for you. However, if you would like a full understanding of the intricacies and science behind the root cause, effects, and truly well rounded experience and education--I would not recommend this facility. The proprietors are not actually equipped to handle an actual intelligent adult. You are also limited to the exposure of the "Beach Community" recovery meetings; mainly old-er (55+) adults. If you are looking for well rounded exposure to different meetings, people, and places--this is not the place. However, if you would like to Detox (not use drugs/alcohol) in an unsound non-medical treatment program with an Anesthesiologist prescribing meds to you-Great place. As an educated African American Woman, I was not pleased with the treatment by the proprietor, the staff, nor the environment of which I was placed. I would have to say Borderline Traumatized by this experience.
I had since left this facility and transferred to a more Experienced, Educational, Healthy, and basically all around Authentic Recovery Program which more than catered to my specific treatment needs and respected me as an Adult and not just an inconvenience.
