Unbelievable tasting experience. Having tried quite a few one-or-two Michelin star tasting programs in NYC, Frevo is the best. Every one of the dishes in the course is most inventive, refreshingly delicious and awakening one's taste buds. Added to the excitement is watching the kitchen team in action, coupled with a very helpful servicing team who introduced each dish and recommended the wines. The 11-seat counter arrangement and the ambience made the experience even more memorable.
My favorite restaurant in NYC. The food is incredible. Service is amazing with staff explaining every dish you’re eating and every wine you’re drinking which enhances the experience. And if that’s enough front of the house is an art gallery featuring different outstanding artists every quarterFood: 5/5
My friends and I had such a great dinner here. We have always wanted to try this place and highly recommend it. Every dish has unique and intesting mix of ingredients. Every bite was so delicious and fun texture as well. Service was on point with friendly chef and staffs, and loved the vibe as well. 100% recommend.Food: 5/5
Amazing experience! I highly recommend! Every dish looked like a piece of art and exploded with different flavors! I wanted to savor every bite. The staff is friendly, attentive, kind and patient. Our friends were running about 15 minutes late due to a delayed flight. Frevo did everything possible to try and accommodate. Ronald provided us with exceptional warm friendly service. It is obvious to see the entire team enjoys their work and only wants to provide you with the best dinner experience.
This was truly one of the best, if not the best, and most unique dining experiences I’ve had in New York. The level of detail in every dish, the flavors, the atmosphere, the wine pairings - all of it was exceptional. It was evident that every element was thoughtfully curated and everyone on the staff was well trained, professional and just lovely all around. I will definitely be back.
Incredible restaurant hidden behind a gallery. Sat at the chefs table. Ambiance amazing Perfect service. Each course took us through all the senses and flavors to perfection. Highly recommend the wine pairing.Food: 5/5
It was a pleasant experience dining here. The bar seating was very comfortable. I went there alone and I could see that they did arrange the seats slightly differently, which was very considerate to me. I tried their wine pairing and although one or two of the selections were really not my taste but in general I like it. You can see clearly from your seat how the chefs prepared your food. The prefix was very enjoyable. The first one was the refreshing kinmedai hand roll. And the second dish, butternut squash, was very eye catching. I really like the sauce inside the crisply fried ball-shaped skin. The cheese and mushroom base was just too good. The next one was a fish dish. I like the way they integrate apples to the sauce. The umami of the fish went really well with the sweetness of apples. Before the main dish was my favorite dish of the day: the milk bread. The tofu butter sauce was just so amazing and I could eat the bread all day with the sauce. As for the main dishes, each one was unique in its own way. The asparagus was soft and went well with the pistachio. The sea bass was my favorite. The skin was grilled crisply and you can actually see the chefs grill the fish. For the lamb, I liked the side mushrooms more. The desserts gave a perfect ending to the journey.
The food. Forget everything about this place except the food and you will place this restaurant in the top ten dining experiences you’ve ever had. Now add on the fact that they prepare the food in front of you in a coordinated ballet performance exaggerating a bit and the atmosphere of the restaurant and I’d be surprised if this doesn’t make your top 3 you must eat at places like this a lot to have anything above this. I came a while ago and had to come back to post my review because this experience was unmatched. I notified them ahead of time about my gluten allergy celiac and they came prepared. They made me feel like a king when they delivered me fresh backed, scrumptious, gluten free bread. Every dish alteration was clearly explained to me and made me feel extremely safe. One of the dishes, a white fish I can’t remember the name of, was probably the single greatest thing to ever touch the inside of my mouth. Every dish started with a single bite that exploded with flavor and ended quicker than expected because I was unable to control myself from devouring the rest of the dish in seconds. The entrance to the restaurant is a bit silly and whimsical especially compared to how serious it feels inside, but I didn’t even remember how I got in after I took the first bite. A must go for a special occasion in Manhattan. Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free, let them know ahead of time
Cute restaurant, but thought the gallery would be bigger and have more art. Food was tremendous, really great and unexpected combination of flavors. Feels like it’s a pretty small amount of food for the price though compared to others of this price point.Food: 4/5
Brazilian/Portuguese fine dining experience. I m glad I chose this place. It was magical. It was stunning. Amazing team work from top to bottom. It was open kitchen and that was something I really enjoyed. It was always interesting to witness everyone worked together as a team. Anyway I have to point it out that our server really listened. Navy terms, we call it "attention to details." Special occasion details were not provided when the reservation was made. Yet he figured out the special occasion and improvised accordingly. A surprising treat was served at the end of the dinner. It was like something you would see from a TV show. For the food, the tasting menu was a symphony. A roller coaster I would say. The transitions of the flavor from mild to strong and strong to mild were just beautiful. Bravo to the chef. Thoughtfulness was what it was. In my opinion, Some courses were Japanese culture influenced but reconstruted with Brazilian flavored and modern techniques. They were just amazing. Art within art. The collaboration with Toma-L, a renowned painter from France, was a brilliant ideal. It took the dining experience to a whole new level. It is subjective, but I think I had the best dining experience ever. I really enjoyed it.
