I came here for my birthday weekend to have some french onion soup. My husband ordered the Basic egg for brunch and, while simple, it was well executed: fluffy savory egg, well toasted bread and delicious prosciutto. My french onion soup had a perfect mixture of cheese, toast and onion, and was gorgeous. The basket with bread and butter is also delicious. Because of my birthday, the restaurant treated me to a creme brulee, which was a really nice gesture. The dessert was sweet in a great way! Service and decoration are top notch too. Nice place to treat yourself out.
Beautiful little place, pretty decor and nice French atmosphere. We stopped by for breakfast, had Eggs Norvegian and beef tartar. Food was fresh and delicious, but that pistachio dessert was out of this world! Service was kinda slow, it felt like we waited for a hot minute for almost everything but it wasn't overly annoying because we were busy with conversation.
[5/5, New York, NY] We were looking for a place to have dinner and just searched around Greenwich Village. Came across this super highly rated place on Google Maps - did not disappoint at all. Bread was hot and butter had a nice touch of salt. Smoked duck breast was okay - was curious how this tasted so we just ordered a portion. French onion soup, octopus and beef tartare were all amazing. Topped it all off with a perfectly cooked medium rare Chateaubriand. Will come back.
We went here for an anniversary dinner. It's the smaller version of the grand boucherie. The atmosphere and decor were really good. We ordered the onion soup, snails, hangar steak and lamb chops. Overall, I felt that their spice mix and taste was much better than most other places and the quantity was very good. However, the meat wasn't really seared well. I suspect they don't really use heavy cast iron pans... And they cut off the lovely fat from the lamb chops but that's standard for most places these days. Why don't they ever ask you if you want the fat or not? I've added some pictures as well. The creme brulee for dinner was also very good! Overall, definitely a place checking out!
Went there for restaurant week. The set menu $30 was definitely worth to try. White carrot soup: just ok Salad: simple, fresh, good Pate: enjoyed! Mushroom ravioli: great flavor Burger and fries: it was ok. Wish it was with some special sauce or something. Bread and butter: very good
Delicious ham and cheese, french onion soup, bread and butter, sublime flavors! Had to come back the next day for more: had escargot, beef sandwich, white wine, all was amazing! Server was very friendly when I asked for wine recommendation. Felt like we were eating in France , amazed by the level of food in nyc
Stunning. A secluded private corner restaurant in the west village that helps one to just escape the havoc of 6th Ave and transports one to a a corner of Paris. The food is excellent. The burger is likely one of the best I’ve ever had in NYC. I will say, for a place as stunning in decor and in flavor of food I do wish that the service was a little more friendly. They’re responsive, but not proactive in their care. This is not a make or break for me, but as a service professional myself I would hope to have the cost of my plate + drink translate throughout the entire experience. Coming back soon!
Food was good but the wait staff was rude. After being there for less than an hour the servers became antsy to clear our table and were clearly trying to vacate us. We had three waiters ask to take our unfinished plates within the span of less than 5 minutes. Since it was our friends birthday we were offered a free dessert which we ended up getting charged $14 for because we “did not make a birthday reservation”. How unprofessional! I will definitely not be coming back due to this treatment. Take your money elsewhere.
The service here was excellent - our server was so friendly and down to earth - and the food was delicious. We ordered the mussels/frites, steak frites, ravioli, and escargot. Everything was great, though the steak was a tad tough. The creme brûlée was fantastic though. All in all, a great experience. If you’re planning on coming here, make sure you make reservations beforehand!
Second time to visit Petite Boucherie – love the food, drinks, ambience, and superb service! Big thanks to Eva for the warm welcome on both occasions We will definitely go back.
