I wish I would have read the negative reviews about donation pickup and lack of phone service before scheduling with these people. TL;DR: I paid $25 for people to mess up my house, and not take a couch. When the employees came to pick up my couch and refrigerator, they stated the couch was too stained to take. I thought it was ridiculous, as it is in perfect shape with the exception of one or two water spill stains that are actually pretty hard to notice I provided pictures via the scheduling tool on their site before scheduling pickup. They then proceeded to move a refrigerator up the stairs without measuring which way to make it through the door and without using an appliance dolly. When they realized they couldn't fit the fridge through the door, rather than rotate it, they tried to force the fridge through the door, breaking my door and denting / tearing a lot of the trim. It was only when I asked them to stop and turn the fridge that they quit trying to force it. They didn't understand what I meant by rotate it, so I had to physically hold the fridge on the stairs and rotate it for them. I let them take over again. Since they weren't using a dolly, they dug the corner into my flooring, crushing the flooring in that spot. Once they opened the truck, it was clear why they said the couch was too stained, they would have had to re-arrange the truck in order to fit it in. I told one employee I wanted them to take the couch, and if their manager thought it was really too stained I would pay the $50 disposal fee. He then told me the couch wouldn't fit, and that they still had 2 stops left. I let him know I've been holding onto this couch which I could have had disposed of when my new one was delivered for a month. He suggested I call back and schedule another pickup. I then tried to call the Furniture Bank to discuss the terrible experience, but like many others before me discovered, they don't seem to answer their phones. No matter which option I chose, I always made my way to a "this mailbox is full" message. I'm out of Goodwill's pick up range. If you are the same, I would suggest renting a truck and taking furniture to a Goodwill drop off location. That would be much less of a hassle than dealing with these people.
I had the best experience with Furniture bank. The front desk girl was so welcoming, and kind. She made the whole experience great, which is important in the situation that I’m in, because it’s hard for me to ask for help, but she didn’t make me feel any less of a person for seeking the help I needed for my family. The delivery guys, Doug and James were very kind as well. They both smiled real big at me when I opened the door. They were pleasant, prompt, and helpful. Thank you furniture bank employees for making my experience great, and run smoothly!
This was my first time donating to the FBCO and it was outstanding! I submitted a pick up request and got a scheduling call 3 minutes later - that’s not an embellishment - it was 3 minutes. Pick up was scheduled for the following week. The entire process was seamless. Jacob and George picked up my furniture and were lovely. They were in and out in 10 minutes. I donated my late grandmother’s dining set and it felt bittersweet watching them take her furniture away. The care and kindness they showed each piece made the process a little easier. I’m excited to think about the family that will be able to have a table and chairs now. My grandma would be happy knowing her things were going to help support families in need. 100/10 We will be donating again!
Matthew and Curtis were an awesome team that came to assist pick up of some bulky and heavy items for donation. Great attitude, professional and were able to disassemble a 2 piece mirror/dresser set when I couldn't. Great team work and not a scratch anywhere - even with low ceilings or tricky tight stairwells. Answered my questions and made it an easy, non-stressful experience to donate. They Rock!
Furniture bank made it so easy to get some items still in good condition in to the hands of someone who needs them and cleared out my space! Matthew driver and his helper, Kurt called ahead to let me know when they'd be here and showed up on time! They worked quickly to move 2 pieces of furniture out of my house from the second story. No damage done and the guys were so incredibly friendly and kind! Keep up the good work guys, you're helping others, be proud of that!
This organization is phenomenal for Columbus. You call them, arrange a pick-up of your furniture, and in typically less than a week…your donation is carefully loaded to a truck and on its way to needy families. Matthew and Curtis arrived on time a 3-hour window, which worked for me. They were both polite, positive, strong, and happy with their job. Thank you, Matthew and Curtis.
It was great. there was a 3-week wait to schedule a pick up. But once that was set, they called to confirm 2 days in advance, then called again 30-mins prior to pick up. The two gentlemen were courteous, inspected the furniture to be sure it met their standards, were careful of my home, and quick. Good experience and I am glad to give my things to others who can put them to good use.
The entire staff was very helpful and extremely nice. From the woman at the desk I unfortunately didn't catch her name, to warren who walked me around all the way to James and Doug delivery drivers! Definitely a 5 star review and a great place to go if you need some help on furniture!!
Fantastic team, from scheduling a pickup to removing the items from my garage. I had seven items ranging from a desk, lounger, chest of drawers and smaller items. They were friendly, professional, courteous and careful in handling the items. I will definitely use them again and recommend them if you have items for donation.
I had a great experience with Furniture Bank. Everyone was professional, efficient and courteous. Curtis and Matt were right on time, they called when they were close and loaded all the items very quickly. Thank you for the good experience. Appreciate what you do to help families in need.
