Carver is like a Taco Bell meal, looks decent at first, actually not bad at first taste. But once it goes down, u can feel your anus expand. Almost like if you were eating the cafeteria food. Anyway, if you want your child to significantly lose half of their brain cells and their IQ to drop to four, then definitely enroll your child now!

Let’s just say Carver is a train wreck of good and bad, socially and academically. When you hear that this is one of the best schools in the state, let me tell you that many people cheated their way to success, and get away with it, just because everyone thinks that since this is the best school, students must have the decency. I’ve never talked much with the administration, but based on other reviews and my classmates’ complaints, I assume they’re not the best at understanding our problems. They’re probably not always in the mood to actually listen or talk. Also, remember that although it’s just middle school, you can’t rely on everyone around you when you ask them something. Not everyone knows what’s right, even adults. Oftentimes, Carver is a bunch of people pretending like they know what they’re doing, thinking they know what they’re doing, and then screwing up. Some teachers don’t care about their students or their stress. Some teachers don’t teach. Then it’s up to you to sort everything out. Or you can do it the way everyone else does it, and cheat. Don’t do that. No matter what class you’re taking, it’s not hard to the point where you need to cheat.
On the other hand, Carver’s got some of the best people I’ve ever met. Some of the teachers will understand your problems, some of them will make you feel like you have a reason to be here, and some of them will do a better job of teaching than you’d expect. I think bullying is not so big of an issue here, because we go by the idea that we’re all suffering under the same hell, we’re all doing the same stuff, so why bother to pick on each other, when we can just make things easier for everyone? Because even if the day was disastrous and we made it to the finish line in a sloppy race, let’s be real, we’re still suffering all the same, we still made it to the end, and we did it together. Embrace that.
I can’t say these were the best three years of my life, but for some people, they would relive these three years in a heartbeat. If you’re coming to Carver, it really depends on who you are as a person, what classes you’ll take, what teachers you’ll have, what kinds of friends you’ll make, and who you choose to be. Maybe it’ll be a nightmare for you, but it’ll get better with each day as you count down to your eighth grade graduation. Good luck.

Okay well, if you are planning on taking your child to this school then sure, go ahead. To be honest I dont have any context to what a good middle school is and what a bad middle school is. I've only been to one middle school and it's this one. There are some really chill and caring teachers but there are also some teachers that are all dried up. These teachers have no passion in them anymore, which really disconnects the student from what they are learning. In my personal opinion, Carver is a good school that while it might have some problems isn't a bad choice for your child to go to. I personally made great friends here and never felt a lot of stress even though I was in German IE (I believe it's the hardest program). Dadeschools is somewhat corrupt so we can't blame everything on the school, blame the district :) -Lucas Gonzalez

I am currently a sixth grader at George Washington Carver Middle School. Since little, Carver was my DREAM! I constantly heard from my elementary school teachers that Carver would be the best choice for. And it definitely is! Most people say that Carver has a lot of homework, but with what I have seen there is way less homework that my school last year. The teachers are super friendly, and great administrators are working in the building. When I go to Carver, I feel safe and happy. There is no social status of the “popular kids”, or the “geeks”. Everyone is just a STUDENT ready to learn. The only thing that Carver lacks is a bit of creativity because it is mostly a strictly educational school. There are many options for electives and sports though! I would definitely recommend the technology elective though. Ms. Toledo is very kind, and she is giving us a free opportunity to be certified by Microsoft! If you are a parent looking for a great middle school for your child, make sure to apply to Carver!

It was a satisfying experience at Carver. Some teachers were good, some classes were fun, and there were good people to hang out with. However, only about one or two classes either had a bad subject or a bad teacher.
