Giuseppe's Italian Ristorante

Every couple months my wife and I get a date night, and the last three times this is where we have gone to eat. The wine selection is not only good, but quite affordable per bottle. We make it a point to try a new dish when we dine and have not been disappointed. The atmosphere is relaxed. We plan on making this our date night spot going forward. Don’t go in rushed to eat, enjoy yourself and relax.

Pros - ambience, location Cons - price for what you get, simple fare, quality of ingredients I enjoyed this restaurant very much. It had a romantic and quiet atmosphere and the service was good. I did not, however, enjoy this meal. These are basic dishes with simple ingredients and underwhelming flavor. My three meat lasagna was mostly cheese. The bread is a simple store loaf cut into slices. The sangria was nothing more than white wine with fruit flavored sparkling water. Quantity (again, for what you pay) is too little. I probably won't visit this restaurant again, but it would make a decent date spot.

Cozy little restaurant hidden in the middle of downtown! Food was great, so was the service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We had reservations for New Years Eve. We are from Winnipeg and have been there before. We were excited to go because last time we were there the food was exceptional. This time we were so dissapointed. The service was way below poor. Our waiter just seemed out of it. He came to take our drink order than forgot have of it. Then he came to take our food order and could not remember if he told us what the dinner specials were. The appetizer of calamari was good. Then he said he was going to bring us our salad but we ordered soup instead. Then the real dissapointment the entree. I ordered veal marsala. The veal was so tough I could not cut it with a knife. I preceded to tell our waiter and he asked if i wanted to order another veal marsala. Not likely, if the first one was that tough the likelihood of the second one being tough was pretty high. My spouse's veal marsala was also tough.The waiter just seemed so indifferent. I sent my meal back to the kitchen. The waiter then came back to ask us if we wanted to order dessert but forgot to tell us what the selection was. At the end of the meal, the waiter told us he was going to give us a free cannoli (worth $3.75) but the veal marsala that I ordered was $21.00. Since our waiter was not good we proceeded to tell another waiter to be told that he was new and didnt know what to do. So we paid our bill and left NO TIP at all. We used to tell our friends and family about this place but we will never go back and we will tell everyone we know to avoid this place at all cost. NOT WORTH IT.

Great food and proof service. Bar selection needs a little work, unless you're a wino. Them, you're set.
