Story

Honest Skincare. From our family to yours

For us, honest skincare means reading the label and recognizing every ingredient as simple, natural and derived from a plant. Honest skincare means we treat the earth fairly by not washing contaminants down the sink that don't bio-degrade and that accumulate in the environment. Honest skincare means soaps and skincare products that take care of you and your skin; a small dose of aromatherapy in the middle of your day and skin that is clear, soft and smooth.

Sandra is the genius behind our formulas and fragrances. As a woman of science (with a Doctorate in Bio-Medical Engineering) she's had a lot of chemistry and biology, and it turns out, she has a great nose for aromatherapy.
In addition to helping manage the company and develop new products, Sandra teaches full time as a professor in the mechanical engineering department at the Ohio State University and has a thriving engineering consulting practice. Phil is the principal soapmaker, focused on production, packaging and labeling, sales and marketing.

Our Foaming hand soaps are special and unique and among our most popular products. Foaming soaps are much more difficult to handcraft than bar soap. And in fact, most of the commercial foaming hand soaps on the market are not actually made for real soap - that is, saponified oils. They are aqueous blends of surfactants and detergents. Our blend of high quality olive, coconut and sunflower oils produces a silky foam that feels great and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. The natural essential oils we use produce a vibrant scent and give you a true aromatherapy lift any time of day.
