Golden India

Great place for lunch. Lunch buffet is a little pricey, but it's worth it. Buffet selection is very small compared to India Palace, but the food quality is better and has more flavor (spicier). I also like how they bring out fresh hot naan rather than letting it sit out on the buffet. I have lunch here about once every couple of months and enjoy it every time.

I really want to love this place but usually end up just liking it. The fare is quite similar to my nearby fave, India Palace, but the digs are Spartan, which is not necessarily bad, and the steam tables are strictly utilitarian. It's picky, I understand , but when there are two restuarants so close in fare and location, ever little bit helps. I'll do Golden India when I don't feel like a crowded joint.

I love Golden India with its long history and tradition. It is a great place to go and have a unique experience that is subdued and Enchanted. Staff is friendly, the food is special, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's a great place to go on a date.

The service was great! We had the Cajun oysters and the seafood dip both were tasty.

This is by far the best Indian food in Memphis. I've made it a point to try other places to compare them to this place. Other places are good, but Golden India is the best. I enjoy their Thursday and Friday buffets. Each day they server a regular menu on the buffet, so you always know what you're getting depending on the day you visit the buffet. I've discovered that Indian food is kind of like chicken and dumplings. It might all be the same stuff, but each granny has her own recipe, so no two are identical. The same is with Indian food. I think Golden India has the best recipes.
