Goldenrod Restaurant

What a great place to eat! This restaurant is a landmark that's been serving great food since the 50's.! It's famous for its seafood which is amazing! For lunch we ordered a lobster roll for me and Chris wanted a fish sandwich. They said they had two different types. The frozen Atlantic Cod or the VERY fresh Haddock. She chose the haddock. When it came, she said "Oh my God! You have to try this!". I took a bite and it was HEAVEN! For the first time in my life, a fried fish sandwich beat out a fresh New England lobster roll! They have an enormous menu with everything! So if you're not a seafood fan, you'll still fall in love with The Goldenrod. It's DEFINITELY worth a one hour (or 3 hour) drive just for lunch.

Went here for a treat on Mother's Day! I have not had ice cream in about a year and our kids had never been here so it seemed like a win win! My husband ordered snickers, my son had brownie cookie dough. My daughter had mocha chip and I ordered m&m. My husband got his first and my son, then my daughter. By the time mine came out it was wrong. I looked at her and said I ordered m&m and she said oh sorry and proceeded to dump the mocha chip she scooped back into the tube and use the same cup to then put my m&m in. I do not like coffee anything and of course my m&m had a mocha flavor now, yuck. So that is why only 4 stars. I have never had any issues here before!!

I moved near Manchester 3 years ago, and I came from Salisbury Massachusetts. Therefore I know good seafood when served it. The Goldenrod surpassed anything I had expected. The prices were average for the seafood plate I ordered. And it wasn't loaded up with french fries, yet it had plenty of seafood. I also visited Goldenrod because on Tuesday nights they have an antique and classical car show which was also a dandy. Next time I want seafood (mid summer), I will be going back there! You don't have to remortgage the house to eat here. Haven't been before? Now is your chance. You'll be glad you did.

Amazing food, amazing ice cream. I live in Florida so I only get to eat here once a year, but I dream of this place it's so good. I never miss it on my annual trip to New England.

Great service clean dining room and like always my chicken tender plate was phenomenal. I always stop in at goldenrods if I'm in the neighborhood. Loved it!!
