Puritan Backroom Restaurant

Most often, the backroom is great, but this time, I ordered a cheeseburger. I prefer medium-well, but usually order well done because invariably at most places it arrives too rare. I ordered well done, and it was still red in middle. I asked for lettuce, tomato and onion. They forgot the onion. By the time the onion arrived (clearly forgotten about by the server until she looked at me and it clicked) the burger and fries were cold. The burger had zero flavor , as did the roll ( like their flavorless dinner rolls). The lettuce was spoiling and brown around the edges, one of 2 tomato slices was brown. I just scraped off the bad stuff and ate half of it. If i had sent it back, my dining companion would have been finished by then. It was a huge disappointment in a place that usually is satisfactory. I'll just stick with the chicken tenders next time. Skip the burger, people.

I go to the Puritan Backroom restaurant basically for one reason: For the broiled chicken tenders made in they're special sauce -- which I think is basically a lemon sweet and sour sauce. While it's not a dinner that will send you into orbit, it is definitely a very tasty meal. It is THE favorite menu item for me. Also, going to the back room brings back memories of going there every other month or so with my mom. She used to bring me there for the pizza. A personal Pizza at the Puritan Backroom is great comfort food.

Great family restaurant and delicious food! They are also very accommodating to the elderly. My mom lives at a nursing home nearby and we were able to get her in and to a table despite her broken hip... Walker and all! I highly recommend!

This is a great family friendly restaurant. The food has generous portions, and you won't be leaving hungry. It's difficult to not order chicken and mudslides here, as they do both of them very well. That being said, I've not found something on the menu that I haven't liked. I found that the service here is quite fast and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place.

Good, fresh heaping portion of chicken tenders. Delicious mudslides, but the service was horrendous. We came as a family of four. We were scoffed at and ignored by the hostess. When my fiancee asked the waitress what kinds of beer they had, she pushed the menu to and said "look, they're all written right here!" (VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL). I won't be returning. There is no excuse for such ignorance and horrific service!
