I've frequented Gus's for years, most often delivery, but decided after a long walk that I would do dine-in for a change. It was a sunny day, so the dining space was about half occupied, several people in the outer section of tables. I received my tender combo meal within ten minutes and had a very chill time. The tenders and sides never miss--giving the chicken a couple more minutes to rest by wolfing down the sweet, uncomplicated slaw and the thick but small-portioned Mac and cheese first was the perfect play. The tenders were juicy and were the perfect size for dipping into the honey mustard, not to mention the spice was perfect. I didn't feel the heat until I had the last tender down, then my nose began to run with glee. I've been to at least one other Gus's location before, but this one comes out the best.
I had the three piece dark with greens and Mac and cheese. The sides were both good. The chicken was good with the perfect amount of spicesness. Great place. I will go back again.Food: 5/5
Great service and great food to match We shared a half chicken. Great juicy fried chicken and Mac and cheese was solid. Will be back often and recommend!Food: 5/5
Was in the area looking for a place to eat and we opted for this. Not a bad spot. We didn’t realize the chicken was all spicy though. To me the spice was minor.Food: 4/5
This place is beyond amazing. We consider ourselves fried chicken aficionados and this place blew our minds. We go every time we are in KC. We had 8 people and the service was very fast. Tracy was our server and was warm and welcoming. We had the fried pickles to start - some of the best I’ve ever had. The chicken sandwich was delish!! Mac & cheese - GOOD. Dark meat meal - GOOD. Fries - GOOD. Tenders - GOOD!! Dietary restrictions: They’re almost 100% gluten free. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu!
Visiting from Oklahoma and I found this place by another reviews post. We love fried chicken and it was delicious. The skin had a kick to it. Probably some of the best we’ve ever had. The sides are lacking flavor according to my husband, but I loved the beans and coleslaw. The fried pickles slap! The sweet tea is just the right amount of sweet!! Give Gus’s a try! You won’t regret it!
I’ve had Gus’s at one other location before and was happy. This location keeps right up and served up delicious chicken, beans, and Mac and cheese. I also really love the fried okra here. The waitress was accommodating for my elderly grandfather who doesn’t move well and sat us near the entrance. My drink never got below half full. Loved it so much I bought a tshirt. Hopefully I can come back sometime soon with my whole family. This was way better than Joe’s bbq next door.
It was my first time visiting, my daughter has asked me have I been there on more than one occasion so I figure I would check it out , they did not disappoint, chicken was hot with a little bit of seasoning heat and the crust on the chicken was incredible, service was great ,it wad a good experience also had desert sweet potato pie...not bad
i wish i could give 6 stars, our server kaitlyn was so sweet and was funny and welcoming, the sweet tea was perfect and the chicken was AMAZING! i went at the end of the day and the greens were too salty FOR ME GREAT flavor though! and i asked to switch to fries and they made it happen. and they were playing etta james on the speaker. 6/5 stars great first time experience!!
The food was amazing, and our server Dwayne was awesome. He was helpful and patient with the kids, and helped with the menu as well. The place has an awesome vibe and good music. I had a 2 piece breast w/ beans and greens and it didn’t disappoint! For my family of 5 it was only around 70 which is a really good value when we eat out. I will be back to Gus’s!
