Been here several times over the past few years and it never disappoints. Fresh seafood, delightful hand crafted cocktails pictured, and delectable apps, sides, and dessert. We had grilled oysters, crab cocktail, spring scallops, lobster mac n cheese, a soft shell crab special and profiteroles. Friendly maitre'd and excellent service. Loved it all!

Came here for a birthday dinner of a party of 10. Place was very accommodating for that size party. The waiters and staff were all Friendly. The baked oysters were to die for as well as the grilled octopus. Was slightly disappointed in the seafood paella especially for the price. I also was not a fan of any of their cocktails and I tried 2 Different ones. I would definitely return for another dinner here in the future.

What I LOVE about this place is NO DRESS CODE!!!! I had the oysters and I am PICKY - they were excellent!!! Staff was superb. I literally googled oysters and this place came up. I cannot wait to come back and bring friends. This is THE spot.

Found this amazing restaurant and we’re so excited! We’ve lived in NYC for years and when we moved to the NJ, finding a place that has the vibe of Old School Blue Water Grill was hard, but then came Halcyon! The service was wonderful and everything we ordered from the maki rolls, crabs cocktails, crab cakes that our 7 year old loves, and desserts were all so delicious. We will definitely come. Ack

Restaurant was ok. Waiter friendly. The prime rib was great with the sauce that it comes with. The side that came with was absolutely delicious. I think it was potato at the bottom, mushroom in the middle and cheese on top. The fish taco looked good but needed a little more flavor. There was an insect in my drink but i didn't know until i took it out of my mouth! It was probably hiding in the bottom. Drink was removed from the bill. A few people that we dined with had issues with their meal but it was corrected. Other than that, everything was fine.

For the first time in many, many years, my family decided to venture out for dinner on Christmas Eve. My sister-in-law made the reservations for the 10 of us. I had not eaten at Halcyon previously. The ambiance was low-key and elegant. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. It was a lovely menu. The menu prices, as far as I know, had not been adjusted upward for a holiday. This is notable because the current economic situation has put a burden on restaurants, having to increase their prices in order to cover their costs. I ordered a cocktail that was very delicious. The entire meal was interesting, tasted excellent, and every single one of us truly enjoyed the experience. It was a very leisurely, low-key, but festive way for our family to celebrate what may become a new tradition. Parking: Parking in Montclair can be challenging. There is a dedicated parking lot behind the restaurant, shared with one other business. This is definitely a bonus.

After coming here mostly on Thursday nights for a while now I just have to say that the manager on duty and the 3 guys behind the bar are always friendly and professional. Even when they are busy and have a full bar they always make the effort to say "hello" and make us feel welcome. The coconut shrimp roll is absolutely delicious and the Halcyon Days cocktail is amazing. You have to come try this place out if you haven't already. Highly recommend!

The food was pretty good, but the service may have been a little lacking. It was very loud, and the tables seemed too close together for a pandemic. The waitress was very attentive. My wife got the Paella, which she said was very good, with and I got the burger. I was not impressed with the burger. We reserved the table at the last minute by my wife calling first, who has a foreign accent, and then I called 2 minutes later. When my wife called she was told 8:30. When I called I was told 7:30. What's up with that?
