Upon checking in, we found both bed linens dirty! The sheets were not changed, there were particles and dirt where you can tell that someone slept there. There was hair on the nightstand, hair in the floor. How disgusting is that?! The front desk agent was apologetic and we switched rooms. In the new room, there was not a top sheet on one of the beds, only the fitted sheet so I had to make the bed. The tub was stained and needed a good cleaning. Please inform your housekeepers that 8:30 am is too early to knock on doors to see if people have checked out!! Also, please remind them to keep the music down while in the hallways. They should not be waking guest up to music playing loud from their phones. The slamming of the doors is another issue. They are using the latch on the door to keep a room door from closing, instead of holding it while it closes, they let the doors bang. Both days we woke up to this. Seriously?? This is Hilton standards now?
The staff...the safety in the area..the cleanliness of the rooms...was all what we needed after such a long day. Our daughters were elated about the hot breakfast they were able to enjoy before they headed off to school and I would MOST DEFINITELY RECOMMEND STAYING here if you need a quality night's rest.Rooms: 5/5
I have stayed here several times in the past due its convenient location to Samford university. Had a missed stay and called the hotel, but was told I had to call corporate which I did. They filed a grievance but I never received a call back from the manager, or anyone, after that. I kept my next stay and one of my techs and the evening manager was very professional along with a new hire. The Lady I dealt with on the original stay was rude and I felt hateful. It was a missed stay and I simply asked to see if they could work with me some or cancel the bill since I was at another Hampton that week in MO. I am directing our diamond/all members not utilize this hotel when in Birmingham even though it is very convenient to the university. To top it off I have now have a full charge for the full week which I have listed as fraud with the exception of the Monday. I held off on any official review hoping they would at least call me back. Had an issue with the room and it was made right immediately on check in. I have spent a couple of hours on the phone trying to get this resolved. Only option is to take my money elsewhere. I had hoped being a diamond member would have meant something. I have never given anyone a 1 rating until this experience. I will be back in Birmingham with a team next week and while I don't want to, we will be staying elsewhere. It took a month to obtain a receipt, but the full charge was taken off credit card. I did have to go back through Corporate to obtain the receipt though. I was told a manager would send to me and call me back on several occasions. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. If it did no message was left. Only one night remained. I will most likely continue using Hilton as this is the ONLY time and ONLY Location that I really have ever been spoken to like I was. Out of all fairness check in and check out the following week was good and a room issue, due to remodeling, was dealt with immediately.
Good hotel, very friendly staff. Clean, Descent breakfast. Only thing I will say, as a Tesla owner, be aware, there are Tesla charger photos in some old review photos. The Tesla chargers are no longer there. There are chargers, but they are EnviroSpark so for a Tesla you will need an adapter, which is fine, but at 16 amps they are slowwww and now there are only 2. Good hotel, just be aware of that if you own an EV.
Very friendly staff. Really great breakfast. The beds were so comfortable and clean rooms. Would definitely stay here again!!!!Rooms: 5/5
Out of the way from traffic but close enough to the interstate 65 if needed. Lots of restaurants about a quarter of a mile or so away or more restaurants within a 1 to 2 minute drive. Pets allowed. Call the front desk to check beforehand, and make sure you check your folio upon checkout for accurate charges. Had a minor issue with the actual pet charge. Checked my folio about 3 days after checkout and found out there were a few days of inaccurate charges that were immediately corrected after calling. Other than that, everything else was smooth sailing.
Breakfast was good. Only piping hot water at the sink, no cold or luke warm water at all. Rickety elevator. TV signal went in and out. Clean room.
The room was beautiful and the breakfast was very good, with lots of choices for all different appetites.
$200 incidentals for Hilton employees for a one night stay is absolutely ridiculous. If you don't want to rent to them. Close it out and don't rent to them. Tie up $200 of someone's vacation money because of what others have done... I'll never be back for sure.Rooms: 3/5
I feel like I've been robbed. I've been fully charged some type of misc fee of $250. Also, a extra $20 on top of my pre-approvaled amount for the stay. Smh. Well, I've learned my lesson.Rooms: 4/5
