A historic place that has that rock n roll vibe as soon as you walk in! I had the privilege of helping out backstage a few weeks ago, and an awesome feeling knowing that the stage has seen so much in its years! The owner was a great guy to talk too, along with his staff. It had that comfortable feeling all around. If you ever get the chance to check it out, it's a must see place!

The heat wasn't on and I was so cold my nose was running and my fingers and toes were numb...even with wearing a long sleeve shirt and two jackets. Staff was rude (minus the security guys) and the entire place reeked of cigarette smoke. They allow smoking inside the venue, which I thought was illegal. Not in a great location either. I'll be shocked if this place is still open a couple years from now.

Left the Septicflesh show that I was excited to see, would of traveled out of the area but read that Harpo's has improved, new management etc.. I spent the entire concert surrounded by pot smoke and cigarette smoke, when they claim to be smoke free. Severe mold the ceilings, no heat and doors that were chained which I am sure is against fire code since it was near the entrance. Tables and stools that were in need of repair. I am wondering how it is still open and has a liquor license because anywhere else in the country this place would be closed due to such obvious dangers. It was below 30 tonight and I am still shocked that any decent band would play there considering the condition of the venue.

Harpos is a historic concert theatre and a cultural icon of Detroit. In the mid 90's it dipped in staff, booking and maintenance and this took it's toll. Lucky for Harpos lovers it was bought by a someone with a passion to make it great again. The safe parking security perimeter is larger then ever with friendly professional staff that are a well oiled machine. The lobby, house and bathrooms are cleaner and look better then they have since the 70's with all the lights working including the famous lit up dance floor on the second tier. Their are plenty of friendly bartenders for any size crowd and the candy counter has been revitalized. For anyone that has been there in the past you have to revisit and if you haven't your missing the rock and roll experience of a lifetime.

Ruzvelt Stevanofski, former owner of one of Detroit's most iconic rock n roll venues, Blondie's, is at the helm of this other iconic club located on Harper just off I-94 in Detroit.
Harpos does indeed rock again in this refurbished and fab looking and feeling club with Detroit's most storied rock stage. The place has a huge lobby, which you may remember, and two dance floors -- one is the original light-up floor by the DJ booth/soundboard.
With everything from lighted, well secured parking to an excellent lights and sound setup inside, this place is ready for you to come make new memories!
The venue features touring and local acts with Ruzvelt taking particular interest in local bands, interacting with them on social media and at the bar.
