Hassayampa River Preserve

Bring your camera, your hat, your water, your sunscreen, and lots of patience when you visit Maricopa County's newest park! This riparian preserve has been around for quite a few years and has an amazing story on how it started. Stop at the visitors center and see the home that was built in the 1860's. There is wildlife everywhere so look around and maybe speak softly to not scare off the birds! The trails are gravel and in some areas sand. I would suggest you call the park and talk to them about the trails that might be wheelchair friendly.

What a beautiful spot! Have postponed this for years now one of my favorite spots. Price when I went was 5.00! Lot's of birds and so quiet. Lovely place to wander the trails.

The preserve is amazing. It like an oasis in the desert. There are public restrooms and great areas for picnicking and families. We were on a school outing and the staff and volunteers involved were awesome. 5 stars all the way around. My only complaint was that we didn't have more time to spend there.

It wasn't crowded at all and our walk through it was nice and serene. Loved seeing the creek running through. It was a little overcast that day so the pond and the mesquite grove felt a little eerie, but in a good way!

We were there for the first time in a rainy cloudy morning. It was perfect. The relaxing sound of the steaming water was great. Trails are easy except for the Lookout where there is a little elevation and can see the side of the road, train tracks and the town of Wickenburg.
