They don't accept combat veterans. They didn't even have the decency to call and let me know that they don't after a referral to them was placed by the VA.

Update 4/12: I have been back twice and so far all issues are resolved. Upgrading to 4 of 5 :-) ------ After 4 visits to this business, I feel a bit lost and like I wasted a lot of time! Last month my triathlon coach introduced me to this business. A lot of her clients use them and have nothing but good things to say. For my first visit, I booked a flush (compression boots) and freeze (cyro tank). I showed up for my appointment and the front office person told me that the Dr. took the boots and left them at home. I really wanted to try the compression boots, but I did the cyro tank and moved on. On my 2nd visit, I called ahead of time and the front office personnel said the boots were there. I drove all the way from Trinity to the office to find out the boots were NOT there. I left unhappy. On my 3rd visit, I called and verified the boots were there. I was able to get the flush and freeze successfully. On my 4th and LAST visit today, I called at 845AM and verified the compression boots were there. 'Yes' the lady told me on the phone. I drove over at lunch today and guess what, no compression boots were available. They had been used for another event. I really wanted this place to help me. I really wanted to use the power of compression and cyro. I lack the faith that this business can deliver on its services. I am done wasting time driving back and forth. Its too bad no one else around here has compression boots. All they had to do was communicate with customers and inform them of the issues before they arrived for an appointment. I am very disappointed in this business. I really wanted to like them. I stayed nice to the staff over the entire debacle. Just one big mess over at this place!

This place has both good points and areas that need improvement. The staff, for the most part, is very friendly and helpful. My first visit was outstanding, with the acupuncturist/dry needling. The provider was intentional about creating a safe space, asking questions and explaining - in detail - what he was going to do and doing all the while continuing to monitor my pain/discomfort level. All went well, I healed ~ hooray! Rob Balkind is awesome and truly cares about your whole person. After several months, I decided to visit another provider (D. Rudolfo) in that office due to recommendations. I've never been to one and didn't know what to expect. I went, actually, for running help - never expecting (or wanting) and "adjustment". At first, all was going fine. Questions were asked, I answered, advice given and my training schedule criticized. Then the massaging of my pain/tight areas and that's when things began to fall apart. The provider was constantly distracted by one of the aides coming into the room trying to schedule another patient WHILE he was working on me. I finally yelled "stop distracting him, he's hurting me"....the "provider" just chuckled and they continued their conversation. Then, out of the blue, he jumped on me as I was lying on my side. I yelled out and he said, "yea, roll over". I moved to my other side, gingerly, then he did it again! I said, "that hurts!", he said, "that's right". [[Note: NEVER ONCE was I asked about this, no xrays were taken, no conversation about this was had]] I tried to sit up and experience a very sharp pain in my lower back. They took me to the laser room for treatment for my shin pain ... (the technician was training without observation, totally missed all the area and I still had to pay for it). After that, I was checking out and kept telling the office manager that I had pain. She said, "it's normal to be sore". I said, "I've never done this before and it's not soreness, it's PAIN...I know the difference". She gave me to another of the chiropractors. At this point, it's hurting more and more. I've never had back pain but family members have. I really began to panic because the pain was just increasing. The female provider asked if I had ever seen a chiropractor - I said NO...and you're the first to ask! She did a deep tissue massage and said my muscles were "blocking" (trying to protect themselves - go figure). When I tried to sit up the pain was so excruciating I literally burst in to tears and almost hit the floor. It took her over 15 minutes just to get me to stand. They then offered some other therapies and I told them I just wanted to go home. They said ok, the charge is $113.00 and they made me pay for this! I paid, could hardly get in the car and went home. Ice and ibuprofen took the edge off but I didn't sleep for about 3 days in that I couldn't get comfortable...it was awful. I called the office to get my money back and was told that the insurance company would fine them as they collected the copay as directed. So, I called my insurance company. Not only was that not true, they hadn't even sent in a claim at that point. So, I called the office manager back (ps: not a very polite person) and left the message that my insurance company assured me that a refund was up to their discretion and none of their business. They asked me to make an appointment to discuss this with the provider - I agreed, but the time they want me to come is right when my children finish their activities, supper, homework, etc. I told them that if the provider would please email me directly, I was more than happy to discuss the issue. To date - no word. This incident was on 2/5/18...I am just now able to get back to running. It took me out of training for 5 weeks....still no word from the practice, practice owners, provider...nothing. They got their money and that's all that matters. The injury and discomfort they caused was completely irrelevant to them.

The staff at Healing Hands is phenomenal. I had never visited a chiropractor before and was admittedly nervous. They took their time and walked me through the whole process and addressed any questions and concerns. I will definitely be back soon as the care really helped my aching back.
