I wish that I could give it zero stars. By far the worst place to live. Do not even consider moving here. Jackie is the worst and that’s an understatement. She’s nasty and condescending. There’s little maintenance, everything breaks down. She makes it very uncomfortable to live there and no sense of community organization. People have been complaining to corporate but they will not do anything as if she’s protected. I would never go back and don’t recommend it
Incompetent management that are avoidant and play stupid when you ask them questions. Over charged for our contractual rent and they said it would "wash out". The location is also great but that's about it! Cannot wait to move out at the end of my lease! Roaches are non-stop and my apartment smells like smoke from the apartments above and below. Also water bills are INSANELY expensive because the meter is for the building and the split by everyone and some JeffCo water scandal?
We tried to get a house and couldn't, so we moved here sight-unseen. Huge mistake. The buildings are very old, the ventilation doesn't reach all parts of the house, and the appliances are falling apart. The walls are thin and the neighbors below us complain about noise through the ceiling fortunately we are on the top floor. The maintenance man is nice but clearly doesn't have authority or money to really fix anything. I had trouble with our ancient stove and he just bent it around to "fix" it. Same with the long tube light in our bathroom, which keeps failing even though the bulb is fine. Our shower was leaking on the floor and they similarly did something that barely worked. Rent is too high for what you get. Management is not responsive. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Terrible place to live. Overpriced and terrible management. Very rude and unprofessional. The apartments are extremely low quality, and everything breaks. The location is good, but everything else is not recommended. It is the worst place I've ever lived and hopefully will ever live. If I could give less than one star, I would. 1 When I moved in, the apartment was completely infested with cockroaches. 2 The toilet did not work properly for half of the year, found myself and my roommate forced to go to the bathroom in the nearby woods. 3 When it rained and rained frequently, the carpet inside and mainly inside the master bedroom would become completely soaked, which I wouldn't be surprised if this caused some mold, etc. I do have severe asthma, so that you can understand the concern. If you do choose to live here, the location is excellent in terms of being in Homewood, AL but other than that, I hope that you would otherwise decide after reading this.
I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have patience of a saint. My apartment has flooded twice from a neighbor upstairs in the last 2 months. I moved in the month of August. I have not had my apartment repainted yet. My smoke detector has been unhooked for two weeks. There is no urgency or attention to detail from what I can tell here. My apartment was nasty when I moved in. The vinyl is stained and old, the range above the stove was full of caked on grease. Get ready to have a higher energy bill. The air conditioning systems are outdated, your dryer won’t be as efficient due to years of uncleaned lint in the walls. That means you will need to almost double the dry cycle times. The list can keep going on with issues. From clogged toilets and slow drainage from the tubs. Parking is also a challenge, especially if your pregnant or disabled. If you don’t secure a space before 8:30pm, plan to hike to your place. Keep your smart watch on to count your steps. You will get a lot if you move here. It’s all good until you have a car full of items you need to unload. The few good things I see about the area is that it’s not noisy, valet trash picks up faithfully, the staff is nice. The only reason I moved here was the Homewood school system. You will need to decide why you want to move here. It won’t be because it’s great for the price unless you get roommates. The only amenities here is the pool and package drop off at the leasing office. I feel it’s not worth the 1200 per month for the numerous issues. I wish this place had a playground for kids, a fitness center, carpool area, and better parking.
Not for a family! I used to live here few years ago. Staying in this place was the worst experience we faced. I complained many times about the noise outside, and they did nothing. We had a disagreement them once, can you tell what did they do? Did they apologize or explained? Absolutely NO. They called the COPS to ask us not to enter the leasing. So we could not live under their “mercy” and we left as soon as we could.
New to town, and only needed an apartment for a short time period. This was a HORRIFIC experience. Not even sure where to start. No handicap access. None. Trash in the parking lot, doggy doo all over and oh does it smell in the warmer months!, and high water bills. My water bill for one person averaged $80-95. This is in addition to the rent you are paying. My new house has two water meters and the bill still isn't this high. And don't even think you will pay for what you actually use. It's some nebulous formula they use to calculate it. If you have a problem neighbor, you're on your own. Management will consistently treat you with thinly disguised contempt as though you are the problem even if you are a good tenant. You can pretty much forget about sleeping if you do have a problem neighbor since the walls are ultra thin. Forget it, too, if you try to enforce the no smoking restriction. Management will not enforce it. Complain all you want. Your complaints will fall on deaf ears. All of my belongings smelled of cigarette smoke when I moved out due to a smoking neighbor. And if you do have a problem neighbor, go ahead and put the local police department on speed dial. Yes, you'll get to know them by first name. One even told me he lived there, and had to move out because of all the problems he had. There is only one courtesy officer for the entire complex, and there probably should be at least three given all the issues. The only positive was with the maintenance crew. T and Thomas are great guys! There are plenty of other places that are nicer, cheaper, and where you will be treated with respect by the management. Go elsewhere 2017- Update. So, I see where previous management who was part of the many problems is now writing stellar reviews of this place. And there are all of these 5 star reviews suddenly appearing. Mighty impressive and transparent. Talk about false advertising.
If you are looking for a place where during a global pandemic people have to stay home and have their car towed without any warning then this is the place for you! Your car will be towed because 1 single worker needs to park their truck in a single parking spot, but the apartment management felt it would be more lucrative to say people can't park in multiple spots and then hire a towing company that will charge you over $300 to retrieve your car! And yes, you can count on rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful leasing office employees!
The office is impossible to communicate with. I have lived here for almost two years and I'm finally moving out. Almost every month I would have to go to the office and ask why I was being overcharged or undercharged. Twice I was accidentally given someone else's bill and the error wasn't caught until I brought it to their attention. This place has been nothing but a head ache, so much so that I am now almost done going through the process of terminating my lease early to get away. Good riddance
Great place to live so far, spacious Apts, well maintained, friendly neighbors, professional staff... Who could ask for more?
