High Desert dermatology is an incredible practice with providers who go above and beyond. Juanita, a PA, spent time researching after hours to assist me in choosing the best medication for my condition. It is a wonderful thing when you have a provider who is truly invested in your health and improving your condition vs. just going through the motions of care. Every single time I have been the providers, medical staff, and front staff are pleasant, polite, and make things really easy. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone, particularly those with autoimmune skin and joint diseases.
I have been trying to contact anyone from Dr Stefanie Gonzalez' office for three days with no call back. I just tested positive for COVID-19 and needed to know if I should continue taking prescription because my immune system is so low. Pretty important. No call back. Do not use this service provider.
I wouldn't use this place again, they will tell you that your insurance will cover it but it won't, and when you call they don't care and say you have to pay, even though you were given misinformation that I repeatedly asked if my insurance would cover the procedure and all they said was yes, yes and yes. If they would of told me to check with my insurance I could of gone to a place that was honest with me, told me they didn't take the insurance and it would of been half the price. I feel they even left some tags on my face so I would have to come back and they would charge me again, luckily I found out about there billing policies so I canceled my second appointment.
FIRST OFF, The girl at the front desk was awful with no customer service skills. Didn’t greet me or anything just asked for my ID and insurance. I waited 6 MONTHS for an appt with them, to finally show up and they tell me the take BCBS but not my plan? This is so asinine. She told me the visit would be $350 without any procedures or medication. No one told me they didn’t take my insurance which she argued with me about and said they are all “trained”. Not very well. All she did was wrote down the name of a place that did take my insurance and acted like I didn’t exist. They accept Medicare and medicaid but not the insurance I pay for myself? I am disgusted and so upset with everything having to do with this place. DO NOT GO HERE.
Very bad experience, wasted 3 months waiting for an appointment and they won’t see me coz I have another insurance attached to my military insurance. Thanks but no thanks for your great customer service. My doctor even highly recommended you and I will tell her what happened today.
I am so glad i went here. Its so beautiful and the staff r nice. But the doctors is amazing. She was hands on not afraid to touch and look at my lipoma. And she took care of my razor bumps. Im so excited and ready to remove my lipoma in a couple months.. Thanks for this amazing new start at life. I have hope now.. Im so ready to remove it.thank you for changing my life. This year has been sad and negative. But now there is a positive.
I was seen and taken care of in 40 mins. Quick and easy and affordable. I was given confidence in my skin care and sun care routines.
I was a new patient there to get a mole check for skin cancer. The dermatologist barely spent five minutes with me. She was not thorough in her check at all like she didn't check my scalp, for example, as my current dermatologist does. She paused at suspicious mole, but didn't do anything further, or suggest follow up, etc. I got a second opinion, and it was Stage 3 melanoma. I would never trust this place for anything serious like skin cancer.
I have been getting screened for skin cancers by Dr. Carey for several years. I have been treated well every time I have been there. Dr. Carey is most personable and knowledgeable. I find his practice runs like a well greased machine. Short waiting times in the reception area and in the exam room. I will continue to recommend High Desert Dermatology. Thank you Dr. Carey!
My Mother and I moved here 1 year ago, and finding a great dermatology provider was number 1 in settling in. To our great happiness High Desert was near us as we live in High Desert. After her fantastic experience though, we would have driven an hour!. Way better than Kaiser back in Northern California...generous and caring...Mom LOVES the front staff and the music...
