After my previous provider moved out of town I was so bummed but I was recommended Carol Purcell so I scheduled to meet with her. The appointment from beginning to end was fabulous. Her medical assistant Tara was so friendly and down to earth and made me feel comfortable. Once Carol came in she took her time and really showed that she cared. I was concerned about multiple moles and changes in skin. She offered many suggestions and didnt make me feel rushed! Everyone was very nice. I also needed a prescription for my atopic dermatitis that flared up a couple days after appointment and got to hear the wonderful Tara's voice and she got the prescription called in right away. The service was great!
Tomorrow morning I will be having a small basal cell carcinoma removed from my eyelid, but it's not going to be performed by a dermatologist at Western Dermatology, instead it's going to be removed by my doctor. In September I visited this practice for a skin checkup as the last one was six years ago. I couldn't even tell you who examined me, but I CAN tell you that I thought her examination was almost rushed. I was surprised when she told me that most of my concerns were seborrheic keratoses and were nothing to worry about. I was surprised when she didn't say anything about this red bump on my eyelid, so I thought that it was no big deal. Last week I went to my doctor and as he was peering into my eyes, he asked how long the red bump had been there and I said about five years. Imagine my surprise when he said he needed to take it off as it was a small basal cell carcinoma, harmless for the most part, but he needed to remove it. Imagine HIS surprise when I told him I'd had full body check by a dermatologist a month before. I wish I had been patient enough to go to another provider, despite their long wait times. I advise you to do the same.
I've been seen several times at this clinic as well as my husband. The staff and providers are all friendly and professional. I trust my care to them. I am happy to be a patient at this clinic.
They’re rude asked us to wear mask yet they’re no even wearing their own mask properly, below their nose or chin.I came with my fiancé to get a cyst removed from his face and was told only the patients were allowed in the exam room, yet after they took him back I saw two people with guest go back with them and no one told them anything.
I recently had an appointment and right when i walked in the front desk lady was not wearing her mask and had me wear mine??? the esthetician was nice but after my appointment the lady to schedule my 2nd appointment was so rude. Also the day of my 2nd appointment they said they didn’t have me on their schedule so clearly they don’t know how to schedule correctly. Waisted my time. Definitely go to a different location or spa with nicer people and who do their jobs correctly.
I give this practice a -*. I was scheduled by my pcp to Western dermatology, they were given my insurance information. Today I received a call of an opening. My appointment was in April. I rushed from westside to make my appointment at 2pm. I gave the front desk my insurance cards. I was told that they take Presbyterian but not contracted with medicaid QMB. I asked if I could do self- pay for whatever Presbyterian didn't cover, I was told that as long as you have Medicaid you can't be seen by our providers at this practice. Was I berated for being disabled and using my insurance from social security!!!! I feel this practice discriminated against me, because I didn't have commercial insurance.
I recently had a biopsy/procedure done at Western Dermatology and from the minute I walked in the door everyone was very professional, courteous and made me feel like a very valued patient. Jessica went out of her way to make sure my insurance would cover the procedure and said she would follow my account to make sure it is paid correctly and will monitor my account. She was awesome. Then there is Audra and Marcia who couldn't have been better. What a great team! They were exceptional and made me feel so comfortable. I was nervous at first but they both put me at ease and made me feel so much better about the whole procedure. The management at this clinic has done a great job employing people who really care about their patients. I have already told several people about my excellent experience at Western Dermatology and will not hesitate to refer anyone needing a dermatologist to them. Debbie E.
I have been a client of WDC's for 20+ years. I spent many years in the sun, so I have relied on the expertise of the physicians to catch anything that needed to be addressed and they have always been professional and extremely through during my appointments. I also have several appointments a year on their cosmetic / spa side of their practice. Kathy and Bianca are both highly skilled and have always been crucial in helping me maintain good skin. I would highly recommend this practice.
GO TO A DIFFERENT DERMATOLOGIST. I have never been to a dermatologist before and I came looking for help. I had a little bit of acne and wanted to know what would help. I used the medication I was given and it made everything 10 times worse. I decided to stop using the medication I was given and go back to what I use to do and my face is finally clearing up. I told the dermatologist what happened and she told me I didn’t do the treatment and I was wrong. She said there is no way it made your acne get worse. The entire time she BELITTLED me and made me feel awful for having acne. She is not very nice at all and all of the people who work under her look miserable. DO NOT COME TO THIS FACILITY.
I wanted to specifically leave a review about Jessica O. from the billing department. I called her a few weeks ago to try and figure out why I was receiving a charge from my insurance company for a generally covered procedure. She has been absolutely determined to help resolve this issue. I cannot express enough gratitude and am blown away by her dedication. In addition, she makes sure to communicate frequently so I always know where we stand in this process.
