High Meadow Bed & Breakfast

High Meadow, even in chilly January, is a gorgeous, peaceful, delicious spot on its own quiet lane, where we and our two grown kids met for a lovely weekend. The early 18th centiry center-chimney farmhouse is an unspoiled treasure, brightened with art and pieces from Thailand where its owners spent many years in the Peace Corps. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable; the spotless bathrooms have deep, old-fashioned tubs for long soaks after hikes in the extensive fields surrounding the house. At the bottom of one of these fields, a small pond and tree swing beckon swimmers. When we were there, old maple trees lining the country lane were laden with sap buckets for the homemade maple syrup. Breakfast was great, featuring toast from different homemade breads, homemade preserves, fruit, home fries, and the most delicious scrambled eggs I ever ate. All in all, I cannot wait to return to High Meadow B&B.

What a fantastic spot. There's a pond, fire pit and a great backyard. The house itself is a treasure. We slept so well. We were then treated to an amazing breakfast. A perfect getaway from the city. I would highly recommend!

Quaint, 18th century Inn in the middle of Connecticut wine country. Rooms are roomy with working fireplaces, a sitting room with TV and smallish bath.
