Ho Foods - Taiwan Beef Noodle Soup Pop Up looking for a permanent home in NYC!
What we're here to do-
Living in New York City we find ourselves eating at great restaurants with amazing, fresh, and nutritious products like happy hudson valley beef to wild ramps and tomatoes from beautiful farms in New Jersey. These restaurants are awesome but more often than not, we crave the comfort foods of our childhood (mine is set in san gabriel valley in california, otherwise known as little taipei, otherwise known as the 626). Not only was it difficult to find these dishes, it was almost impossible to find casual asian restaurants using fresh nutritious ingredients found in fancier places. In the past couple years I've spent more time with my parents in California and Taiwan. These trips have made me realized what I was missing. My parents shop at the farmer's market in pasadena religiously. They know each vendor: who has the best strawberries, who's got better prices on scallions, when's the best time to shop, and they had the same mentality as a fancy chef walking through union square greenmarket. Also, while grazing in Taiwan I realized that it was the norm to buy amazing product from the greenmarket. Coming back to New York I realized that asian comfort food deserved to be made with quality nutritious ingredients too. So that's we do.
We take traditional Taiwan comfort foods and make them with the best ingredients we can find!
