Holiday Inn Fargo

Had lunch at the Holiday Inn today and ordered the Steak Salad. It was fantastic. The portion size was large and the amount of steak was perfect. I loved the dressing and the greens were in good shape. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful since the remodel and our server, Al, was attentive and endearing.

We had a pretty bad experience. We had planned a girls weekend with my friend and our two daughters. We asked for an early check-in at the time we booked the room. Normal check-in is at 3:00, and we were hoping for 1:00 at the latest. I called at 1:00 and was told the room was not ready so call back at 2. I called at 2:00 and was told the room was not ready. I reminded the front desk we asked for an early check in and affirmed regular check-in was at 3. They agreed. We got to the motel at 3:30 assuming our room must be ready since check-in was at 3:00. Our room was still not ready. The front desk decreased our price from $230 to $150 and said to come back in a half hour and gave us our pool passes. We had all of our bags plus both of our 3 year old daughters at this time. We ended up putting all of our luggage by the pool. At 4:00 I came back, room still not ready, at 5:00 came back, room still not ready and front desk decreased the price to $100. At 5:30 I finally received a phone call our room was ready. We tried ordering pizza right away and asked for it to be delivered to our room. The staff said there was no way to deliver it we must pick it up from the restaurant or we could call the poolside cafe and order it there and pick it up there. They couldn’t transfer my call or go out of their way in any way to help. When we were checking out my daughter played a game where you put in $5 and get three toys. It only spit out two toys. We had all of our bags with us. I stopped by the front desk and she told me to go all the way back through the hotel, into the pool and talk to the pool staff. So sad she couldn’t just pick up the phone once again- I had all our luggage and my 3 year old with. It wasn’t worth the headache so we left. It’s too bad the customer service is so bad here. The rooms are great and the pool is wonderful. We will not book another stay.

I have stayed at this hotel dozens of times. Front desk staff are very helpful and I have never had a significant issue. Friendly staff. Good restaurant for those unwilling to trek elsewhere. Coffee shop for the caffeine impaired. Easily located off of I29 one exit from I94. Mall and restaurants conveniently nearby.

Efficient in handling the large crowd. Our table for 10 was waiting for us. Waitress very efficient in handling our drink orders and caring for the table. Food efficiently prepared. But was disappointed in very few assortments of the main course. Pricing for this menu totally overpriced. Will not return to this type of menu.

Had a great time at a social event! It was clean, welcoming, updated and staff was very friendly! Bar also had a great atmosphere! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun place to go.
