From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by the most friendliest staff! The hotel was beautiful! Our room was clean and very nice! Updated and beautiful. The bed was comfortable. Perfect! The pool was clean and gorgeous! In the morning we had breakfast and it was delicious! The breakfast attendant went out of her way to accommodate us by turning on cartoons for my daughter and she also brought me a large pitcher of Coke so I could have refills if she got busy. Everyone went out of their way to be friendly! The front desk person at check in charged my nearly dead phone for me while we checked in. I'm so impressed with how they went above and beyond to make everything perfect! I don't ever write reviews, but with this hotel is felt that they deserved my recognition! I stay in a lot of hotels and this one was one of my favorite!! I can't wait to come back again!
The functionality of the hotel didn't live up to expectations. The rooms were clean, but very cold. The window let in a lot of drafty air. Which made the loud heater kick on and off frequently. I was looking forward to a nice hot shower at the end of my busy day, only to find Luke warm water that barely trickled out the faucet. I do believe that it is customary for the toilet to only needing to be flushed once to remove contents, and not the three times that this hotel toilet required. I was also looking for a nice relaxing dip in the hot tub, but found it stocked full of children. I think the swimming area should be regulated better by having adult hot tub time without admittance of children. I was not the only one complaining about these issues. I had spoken to other guests at the hotel who had the same difficulty as I.
We showed up and it was okay, the guest services people were really nice, it's a nonsmoking hotel but we had to ask for a different room because of the smoke smell. We also only had one working key to the room. The pool was cool, and the hot tub. There was a weird restaurant in the lobby with the pool and the front desk so that was odd. Overall a budget stay but the rooms were good temp, clean, comfy beds and nice staff.
The interior design suggests that this hotel was recently remodeled, but it does not do enough to cover up the 80s feel they even left the wallpaper up in the bathroom. Also, half the rooms have windows facing the center area that contains the pool and dining, so it was creepy that strangers could watch us swimming from their room. Further, this hotel does not have complimentary breakfast it's $9/person. When my friends and I went to the serving area, most of the food was out, and it took 10-15 minutes for it to be restocked, only for it to diminish in a minute because everyone was waiting. Also, while some of the drinks were self serve like the food, others like juice and coffee were to be brought to your table by a server. However, they kept the table with these beverages right by the food, so most of the guests were self serving only to be told by the understaffed workers that they would bring drinks to them. In addition, two of my friends paid in cash for the meal, and after exchanging bills they were told by the cashier that she didn't have change and they were sent someone out to get some. However, after about 50 minutes of being there, she brought them their original change back because the person had not returned with smaller bills. As this was 9:30am, they should be prepared to have change for rush breakfast time. Also, as we stayed two nights, we came back the second night to find papers slipped under the doors stating that they were unable to provide stay over cleaning services that day, so we had to call the front desk for more towels and soaps. Finally, there was a constant high pitch buzzing noise coming from the bathroom ceiling which does not have a switch for a fan, by the way, so it gets steamy. This noise was annoying, as we could hear it while in bed. I would recommend looking into the Comfort Inn or other hotels nearby, unless you are a fan of outdated design, weird layouts, and mediocre service.
There were two good things about this stay. 1-the bed so comfy! and 2-the pool was deep! The pool table was dirty, they had 3 pool ques and all but 1 was broken. The rack for the pool table was also broken. The carpet where you played pool was so sticky our feet were sticking to the ground. There was beer/liquid all over the TVs in the pool area. The food actually wasn't bad, we both had cheeseburgers but you had more bun than burger. For the most part the hotel was quite. When it was time to take a shower the shower was clogged and it started to fill and yes we checked to make sure it wasn't set for a bath. The Kuerig also was not clean, we had to send through hot water over 5 times to get all the old coffee and what ever else was in there, had to wait till the water ran clear. The arcade area should have been fun but guess what! The token machine was broken AND the manager on duty had no clue. Seemed the manager on duty didn't know a lot of things when we asked her questions. Check out wasn't till noon but we had someone knocking on our door at 9:00AM. Didn't answer it because we weren't sure who it was. The pool was nice and the jacuzzi worked and it was relaxing!
Don't be fooled by the pictures. This hotel was not like any other Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in and I won't be staying again. It was very outdated and lacked attention. It wasn't very clean, I was kind of grossed out at how just "dirty" It felt there. My son pulled a big Hairball out of the pool Gross! as he swam by a floating band-aid Double gross! The water just didn't look very clean overall. The AC was damp feeling and the queen beds we booked were more like full size. I booked this hotel because it was a bit cheaper than others in the area. Next time, I will spend the extra $20/$30 per night.
Our stay was great! The rooms were nice, pool area was well maintained, bar area had great food and drinks. But the best part of the stay was the staff. Everyone was amazing and was very accommodating. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was the best I've ever experienced. A special note that Charlie was a huge help to myself and my group and did a fantastic job!
First room had mold in a corner by the bed. Part of the wall was missing so they had a leak and didn't properly fix it. The promptly moved us to another room. Thank you!! This is our 2nd stay with this location. The following are the same issues from last visit are still issues at this stay we were assured that the issues were due to the specific weekend last Fall. Towels by pool are VERY limited. Definitely need more towels on hand. Breakfast bar is always low on food & all tables that didn't have someone sitting at them were dirty with dishes still on them. You need more than 1 person running the dinning room at breakfast. Always have to wait on more food!!! Not the cleanest room. Will definitely choose another hotel next time. To end the stay....AC stopped working Saturday evening when we returned to the room. Called the front desk and they stated they would send someone.... No one ever showed. Slept maybe an hour and now we have to drive back home tired- not relaxed!!!!!
Rooms are outdated. Room keys did not work, and problems were not resolved after several requests to the front desk. Bar and food were surprisingly good, the only stand out, and the reason for not just 1 star. Also, the kids did love the indoor pool. But from a parent perspective, it was dangerous with too many kids and not enough adult supervision. The hotel really needs to provide a life guard on busy nights.
We stay at a Holiday Inn when we travel about 90% of the time. They are a trusted brand and we are pretty loyal to them. Plus, we like using our points for free rooms, breakfast, etc. We stayed at this particular hotel a few times now. It's an older model hotel that is nice and clean but has some age on it. The customer service is what you expect it to be from a Holiday Inn. I give this location three stars because it is an older hotel and does look appealing, even though they try very hard to modernize it. Also, I can't sleep real well on soft pillows. I don't like the pillows at all and I wished they had a firmer pillow, They need more options and shouldn't just have the soft one's in all the rooms. Lastly, the water in the shower was lukewarm at best. I like hot showers and this one was barely warm.
