One of the best birria tacos I’ve had here in the cities. I can normally eat 5-6 street tacos depending on how big they are, but I could barley finish 2 of their tacos. They were stuff with meat!! The stew was super flavorful! If you like spicy make sure you ask for their special ghost pepper sauce.
Ordered the Birria Tacos and so disappointed . The corn tortilla was dry and mushy. Normally the tortilla has the sauce on the shell and cooked crispy to dip in the soup. I'm not sure what changed. My first time here, the Birria was 10/10 but now, I won't come back when food is rushed and not cooked and mushy.
If I could I would give this restaurant zero stars. I went to this restaurant on the evening of December 15th during a snow storm. I ordered the 3 birria taco combo with consommé. I regularly order birria tacos from a different Mexican restaurant but I couldn’t get to that restaurant that night, so I decided to try Homi restaurant. I wanted about 20 minutes for my order which I thought was long but I didn’t over think it. I had seen previous reviews about the taco shells being mushy so I asked for my tacos to be fried crispy. When I arrived home with my food, which is a 10 minute drive. I open the box of tacos and they are mushy with oil underneath them. I open the consommé and it was atleast 2 inches of oil just floating on top of the container. I tried to stir the sauce but the oil remained on top. The tacos meat tasted like pot roast meat and the consommé was oily and flavorless. I called the restaurant right away to state that it seems like my consommé was old or badly made and my tacos with very oily and was told to provide my name and number and come back the next day to get my refund due ti the weather that night. I returned to the restaurant to be told that they have no idea what I’m talking about and that they’re not refunding me nothing because I didn’t bring the food back and that they don’t know who I spoke to. Horrible customer service and food. SAVE YOUR MONEY!
I wanted to really enjoy their birria tacos. They are bigger than others I’ve tried around the city and the tortilla was nice and grilled. My only thing is that they were a little dry and not too much seasoning, even with the consome. I would give this place another try a different time. But my review is just one of many raving reviews.
Absolutely loved their food. Street parking near by the restaurant. As many other reviewers have said the Birria Tacos are phenomenal! You get 3 tacos total with Birria soup and they are so tasty, I'd recommend to stay and dine in that way everything stays crispy. We had the burrito as well. Between the two of us it was a lot of food and barely finished the burrito. We'll be back as it was so delicious. The burrito was $13.95 and the Birria tacos were $12.95.
Come here and get the Birria tacos, or you're doing the wrong thing. This is the sort of mexican restaurant that when you walk in, you can tell that it's authentic and that it's about the food, with no need for show. Support this small business. They deserve it and you will be rewarded.
Oh man, just delicious. Fantastic birria tacos, really tasty and well executed rice and beans, and the guacamole and chips are good too. The couple who owns/runs it couldn’t be more pleasant to talk to.
The older lady is so rude all the time!! They need friendly people interacting with customers in person and over the phone. She is bad for business. I have been ordering from this restaurant for years but you would think as you become more familiar you would get a better service no she even got the nerve to hang-up on me. This women has messup my order multiple of times yet I didn't go to review but disrespecting your customers will get you your 1 star. If you dine here don't expect a good customers service.
This place is so good!! They are serving the best tacos I've had in StP. Everything is made FRESH! It's like eating from my aunty, just pure deliciousness. When you go, be kind and respectful because they are putting in that work to make some really good food.
My partner and I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Besides a few customers coming in for takeout we were the only 2 in the restaurant. Great service, and the food was delicious. We started with chips, with homemade guacamole and salsa. We opted for enchiladas, tamales and finished with tres leches cake to go. Definitely will be returning.
