Perfect place to stop and eat while you’re doing a little shopping at Cascade Station. Hot Pot n Sushi is fantastic! This trip we got the Vegas, Spicy Tuna and California rolls. I can’t wait for the weather to cool down so we can get the ramen again!
The sushi is really good for the price but please don’t get the ramen. I ordered the kimchi ramen and was super disappointed. It looks and tastes like Top Ramen that they just add kimchi and stuff to. They didn’t charge me for the ramen even though I didn’t say anything because they noticed I didn’t eat it. I thought that the attention to detail was super sweet, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting that. Thank you!
We came in expecting a typical sushi track experience and were so wrong! This place was amazing. Great service and better food. The ramen was awesome. We really enjoyed our waiter owner? and his stories about eating the same ramen as a kid. Super legit.
What a great sushi spot we found near Portland Airport. We waiting for pick up our family then we explore around and decide to try this place for get some snack we not even hungry. They belt is close cause covid but we still dine in at table. We there late they almost close we order some rolls its good miso soup is good seaweed salad and squid salad is yummy. Friendly staff, good service. Nice place to stop by..
Came here on the last day of sit down dining for Oregon. Most places I called were already doing take out only so I was happy to find somewhere to go for our last food outing before the shut down. We were greeting as we walked in and the server was very friendly and had us seated right away. They did a good job of spacing everyone out. Usually it train belt style but now they have a order form where you can mark what you want. This was nice actually very nice to keep track of everything we were ordering. I liked how the menu had photos with a good description of what was in everything, it can be hard to play the guessing game off just the names sometimes. The server came over and got our order sheet and they started right away. The deep friend things came out first which was the calamari and shrimp shumai. I loved the little dishes they came out on, it had a really nice presentation. Shortly after all of our cold sushi arrived and oh man we over ordered for sure! It looked amazing and everything was so nice and fresh, I honestly prefer this to the belt style as you could really taste the freshness in everything. The server came and check on is multiple times and was so friendly and nice! As I said we over ordered so I pack up our left overs to take home. He was also nice enough to bring us a bag for our food which now its pretty rare. I will for sure be coming back again and possibly order some take out if things don't open again soon.
Its a solid choice for sushi and soups in the area. The food is 4/5 and service is 4/5 but im not sure why it's getting such a bad rap. Come on your own or with a group, and you will have a great time. I've been here on two separate work trips multiple times and really haven't had much of a complaint.
I'm a flight attendant who had had sushi from all over the world and this is my favorite place. And for it to be track sushi is remarkable. Don't let track sushi scare you, at Hot Pot it's super fresh and they have an awesome happy hour! And get the Volcano roll!
Skip the hot pot and stay for the sushi. I've been eating here ever since they opened, and the hot pot has been overlooked by its other sibling, the sushi. If I'm on a veggie fix, then hot pot is the way to go for a cold winter night. Look for sushi rolls that have eel on them. They are usually out more when it's not happy hour. Skip the times for the happy hour. Not worth the wait unless you have good company. The portions are smaller to compensate for the happy hour price, plus each person must purchase a beverage. I'd choose soda or tea to keep costs down for my sushi feasts.
Quite literally the worst tuna poke bowl I’ve ever tasted. Do the preparers actually know what poke is, or did they just throw random things in a bowl? The chicken katau was ok but I’d equate it to frozen and rewarmed at best. I know good help is hard to find these days but it took about an hour and 20 to get this ménage of garbage. Zero stars. Do not recommend
I don’t normally do reviews but this place deserves one. They have extremely rude staff. It took over 15 minutes for them to even acknowledge that we were waiting to be seated in an empty restaurant. If you have kids don’t plan to go here. They clearly didn’t like that we had littles with us based on comments that were made. I’ll never go to this place again. I hate to give such a bad review, but I am shocked at how poorly we were treated.
