We did not book directly with hotel change so upon checking in we had to wait until the manager “manually entered” our reservation. Our room was on top floor furthest from elevator the whole floor smelt like old wet mildew and water stains were evident & Extremely visible. Upon entering room it was hot & wet feeling tho AC was set on 50!!! Already by hotel. We went out and came back. None of the lights were so we went downstairs to get a new rooms AGAIN put us on top floor Opposite side farthest from room again Smelled so bad had to leave. 3rd room cool but no TV … horrible place
Was alright. Underwhelming compared to the photos you see advertised. Popcorn ceiling with yellow stains, dusty countertops, hairdryer that works sometimes… Not very soundproof. Can hear any noise in the hallways. Also elevator is so creaky and shaky. Pool was very small but looks relatively clean. Only get a water on check in day and that’s it. Also covers are very thin; pillows are hard/too tall but that may be a personal preference Awesome location though. Walkable distance to all the fun places
The hotel is located in the French Quarter. Easy walk to anywhere in the Quarter. So five stars for location. The staff was professional and always friendly. The cleaning staff were quick and mindful of who were still in the room. So good staff rating. The room was a little dated but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom somewhat small but great water pressure and good hot water which can be a problem in older hotels. But the internet was spotty at times and the television relived on streaming so you needed good, strong, reliable internet and at times it just wasn't there. I needed to do a little work and at times worried I wouldn't be able to do so. I would stay again because location, location location.
This is an old hotel. It's towards the back of the quarter. It's quite and peaceful. Rooms show wear, but they are clean and comfortable. Front Desk staff Nicole extremely helpful and friendly. She gets all the stars in this review.
Some of these rooms must be nice and some of these rooms need some serious, tender, loving care. Just now someone sneezed twice and it sounded like they were inside of my room and then I listened to their entire conversation. The walls are more thin than I thought they were. One of the nights this same room had the alarm blaring for about one hour. I called down to the desk to let them know… the phone rang and rang, but no one ever answered. Every single time I took a shower, the bathtub completely filled with water and then it slowly drain out over five minutes after the shower was complete. Management: Visible black mold in the bathroom, other reviews have mentioned this. Black mold needs to be taken care of or you will have a severe issue on your hands with expensive major construction required. I did not have a balcony, my windows did not open, and I had the view of a dirty alleyway. It would’ve been nice if I’d been offered a nicer room upon check in as I don’t think the hotel was anywhere near capacity. The icemaker on every floor was broken and they were “working on it”. I never knew if my trash cans would have liners because sometimes they did and somedays they didn’t. Two places in the ceiling in the bathroom looked really sketchy, and I felt like someone was either recording me with a camera or someone was about to climb down through the ceiling. Toilet worried me sometimes, but did consistently flush. It would fill almost to the point of overflow and then slowly sink out. Couldn’t get my air conditioning to work on day two, managed to jiggle it just right to get it working on day three. The door to room 313 did not properly shut and it was slightly ajar when I arrived to the hotel. Pushing my hotel door open without using the key was very creepy as a first impression. I made sure that it was closed, Everytime I came and left. A positive is that my bed was beautifully made every evening when I arrived back to my room. There is always a large container of ice water in the lobby which I made use of, and was thankful for. The staff were always polite and kind to me. They allow to store your bags before and after checkout which was very appreciated. I would not stay here if I ever returned to NOLA.
Not sure why the negative reviews. We had a great 2 night stay as we were passing through. It was conveniently located to everything we wanted to see. The staff was great and very friendly. I definitely recommend staying here. We will be next time we are in NOLA again. Nearby activities: Alot!! Safety: Parked right near the hotel in a public paid parking. Felt safe there at any hours. Walkability: Walk, walk and more walk. Thats all you do besides drink lol.
Our stay at Maison Dupuy Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon entering our room, we were greeted by a putrid stench that could only be described as something decaying within the walls. The overpowering odor permeated the entire space, making it difficult to even breathe comfortably. It was evident that cleanliness and upkeep were not priorities for the hotel, as mold infested the bathroom, posing serious health risks to guests. Furthermore, the level of noise at Maison Dupuy was intolerable. Whether it was the incessant clamor from neighboring rooms or the disruptive sounds echoing through the poorly insulated walls, our attempts at rest were futile. The lack of soundproofing turned what should have been a peaceful night's sleep into an exhausting ordeal. Adding insult to injury, the safety of guests was compromised by a glaring security flaw—the door to the shared balcony failed to lock properly. This oversight not only jeopardized our personal security but also left us feeling vulnerable and uneasy throughout our stay. It's alarming that such a basic security measure was overlooked, turning what should have been a relaxing retreat into a source of anxiety. In summary, Maison Dupuy Hotel fell far short of expectations, resembling more of a "roach motel" than a reputable accommodation. From the offensive odor and hygiene issues to the persistent noise disturbance and security concerns, our experience was marred by a series of disappointments. We advise potential guests to steer clear of this establishment unless they are willing to sacrifice comfort, cleanliness, and safety for the sake of convenience.
Black mold growing in the shower, leaking sink, unpredictable toilet, large and dark colored stain on bedding, red sticky stuff on the door. This place is so much dirtier than other places in the French Quarter. My tolerance for ‘dirtiness’ is quite high; I do not need a fancy, newly renovated hotel. However, this place is absolutely nasty. I have stayed at way cleaner hotels in the French quarter for the same price. Do not stay here. Also, Wifi and LTE service does not work which would be fine for me if it was clean. I do not understand how this place isn't reviewed more poorly on average Rooms: Really dirty. Not returning
Conveniently located in the north French Quarter. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel did not meet my expectations for the price. Rooms are outdated, carpets are dirty, and this place needs updating. Hallways had wet musky/mold smelling carpets due to broken ice maxhine. No coffee makers in room, nor microwaves. The dining room only offers a breakfast menu from 7:30am, no lunch or dinner. Hotel store didn't even have bottled water, although they provided water from a dispenser. I will not book this venue again. I'm very disappointed.
This hotel is horrible. Paid over $800 and it’s dirty, there is mold in the bathroom, our view is a dirty brick building. The cheapest thing for breakfast is $11 yogurt. Staff seems annoyed to help with anything. The gym did not have an equipment that worked and only had weights over 50 pounds. TV does not work and maintenance does not show up to fix it after being called twice. Pen is scribbled on the comforter and fridge is dirty as well.
