My husband and I went into Keg and Case and stumbled upon this awesome store!! The owner was so kind and had fresh samples of tea and halva. We weren’t expecting to even get any dessert, but we couldn’t pass it up! I am gluten and dairy free and appreciated the GF and vegan treats. We even ended up getting some date syrup after we sampled it. Highly recommend you come here!
An incredible gourmet middle-eastern dessert. Some of the best sweets we have ever had. Worth every penny. We also enjoyed a tahini smoothie. I like the purple rain better than the it’s a date, but both were fantastic and unique in their taste. We met David the owner, super friendly and helpful. The halva is imported from his family factory in Ashdod. The best part for me was that it’s certified kosher. What an amazing random find in St. Paul.
We had a great experience! We tried two different vegan smoothies and really loved the "It's A Date!" David is friendly and quick to help. Sometimes they offer samples of different flavors. They keep the dairy and non-dairy products separate and use separate utensils.
House of Halva looks so fresh and clean with really great looking deserts. I LOVED pistachio.. tastes awesome and sugar free whhhattttt!!
Their halva is absolutely delicious. It is a real deal that is so hard to find in the USA. They offer the widest variety of flavors from pistachio to something unique like whiskey chocolate. It was my favorite! The store also offers amazing smoothies. Will definitely visit again
I was looking for a long long time for a GOOD QUALITY halva, like from my home country. Finally I found one! The chocolate hazelnut was so delicious, it was the perfect texture and sweetness.
Super-friendly staff, tasty offerings, and a great locale in the Keg & Case market get a meal, then get dessert!. Halva is an acquired texture though, it's kind of like a dense, grainy cake made from tahini.
First time having halva!! Very good! Very friendly staff. Tried the chocolate sea salt and a raspberry one.
Stumbled across their Halva at my local co-op and had to give it a try. Halva was a childhood favorite of mine, but I hadn't seen it in 50 years. OMG, delicious does not give it justice. Eating this halva instantly brings a smile to my face and transports me back to my childhood. I went to their store to try some different flavors not available at my co-op. It was fresh and beyond delicious. If you like halva this is the place to get it. If you haven't tried it, this is the place to give it a try. In either case you won't be disappointed.
I stopped by their Keg & Case location pre-pandemic specifically to get halva for an Ottolenghi walnut and halva cake recipe. I'd never had it before, but the employees were great and explained the product and made a few flavor recommendations. I believe I ended up using the whiskey chocolate flavor for the cake, and bought pistachio and others for eating by itself. Really delicious, unique tahini-based dessert. I saw they're now carrying a few flavors at The Wedge Co-op in Uptown -- I recommend giving them a try!
