Hunter Museum of American Art

Great place! They have free Fridays each month at the first of the month. They also have great summer camps for kids. My son went and absolutely loved it. They do an art gallery for them to show their work off at the end. They even did some 3-d printing. I recommend for anyone looking for something to do in Chattanooga. Prices aren't too bad either, and they have a cute gift shop.

$15 for a solid 3-4 hours of entertainment. The permanent collection was beautiful, the glass work in the back was incredible. Upstairs the modern media exhibit and Mexican heritage exhibit were a nice change of pace from the standard art museum walk through. Gift shop even had very friendly person at the counter. Thanks Hunter Museum!

The atmosphere of the museum is very calm, the admission is extremely inexpensive but the reason I had to knock off a star is because of the backpack rules. They want you to either check your backpack into an open coatroom or carry it about like a suitcase. Anyone who wears a pack regularly would be easily able to avoid knocking over things around them. But aside from that, it was a good experience.

I love how they’ve blended the old with the new. The old home place is really neat to explore and the main entrance and modern galleries are very aesthetically pleasing. Felt like there could’ve been a little more in the older galleries, but was there was very good.

I like this place. They have an Andy Warhol painting. Loved the digital art exhibit which recently left and can't wait to see what's next.
