Ibex Ethiopian Kitchen

Was the food good for someone that wanted to try Ethiopian food for the first time? Yes, not bad. Food is okay but the price doesn't match it, in my opinion. I've eaten various ethnic foods from much bigger metropolitan areas and wanted to try this one. So it isn't like I am a total newbie to foreign-origin dishes. But the experience was just okay. There was also no rhyme or reasoning to the ordering as we entered and stood at the counter for about six minutes before we were acknowledged. Then we were ushered to a table with very little greeting. The menu was easy to pick from, but we were not waited on for a while after looking over it for our choices. Which was strange since there were only three tables that were occupied in the whole restaurant. Food was okay but wouldn't go back to this particular spot.

The food is 5 stars amazing.... The ambiance is simple. The beef stew was stellar. Great blend of flavors & spices. And the owner came out to serve us. It's very laid back. Parking & getting in & out were easy.

My husband forgot his wallet at the house and the man working there let us both drive home and pay for it over the phone very nice man. Also the food is amazing. My hubby and I came here and when my mom and sister came over we had to take them here. Needless to say they too loved it.

Having never had Ethiopian food, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was blown away by how flavorful the food was! If you want to get into your food (it's a "hands on" cuisine) and like food with a kick then this is the place for you! Heavy on the peppers & onion. I could drink the broth as a soup. Also, the manager (owner maybe) was the one who sat us and waited on us. He was super friendly and very timely. Fantastic!

This restaurant serves excellent, authentic Ethiopian cuisine! We ordered the chef special, which consisted of multiple dishes served on a bed of Ethiopian bread. There was no cutlery; the expectation is that you eat the food with the bread serving as your silverware. The bread was soft and warm, and many of the meat dishes had a great savory flavor to them. If you are looking for a unique and authentic dining experience, I would definitely give this establishment a try!
