Had a miscommunication with the office and the staff resolved within minutes of being notified. I appreciate them and wish I didn’t overreact to the situation. If your looking for a one bedroom they have the best layout I’ve found feeling larger and maximizing the space. Don’t go by square feet make sure you tour your apartments first. You’ll probably be back to this place if you do.
I’m in the process of moving from Ne to UT and the experience had been great. The staff had been very helpful. I signed without seeing it- the virtual tours were great. I move in next week and the staff has been gracious in helping with everything and offering suggestions.
Now downstarred again. Filed a maintaince request a week ago can't raise the blind in the bedroom. Nothing. Makes it difficult to open the window for ventilation with the cool weather. Worst left a nasty letter accusing me of having a barbecue grill on my balcony when I don't. Sure hope they have business errors and omissions insurance. Is what a false accusation of violating the fire code in writing on letterhead can lead to. Six months ago downstarred to 3 stars even though is a great place. Several weeks ago setting up my living room AV system I checked the cable connection jack isn't even hooked up just a cable pass through. Looks like I'll have to pay Comcast to run a cable. Isn't listed as an amenity so unlikely owner will fix. Likely has been that way. Is also likely why Comcast had to run a cable from my bedroom to the dining area to use for work from home. That jack was dead too. Have to wonder what else. Then there was a derelict car parked in broad daylight for two or more months 100ft from my balcony. Had broken driver side window black plastic bag covering it! Why do I have to do something about it with a complaint. Complaint driven customer service is the lowest form. Not proactive here...The apartments very convenient. Pet friendly. Amazing amenities. Is pretty lax about rules. When I moved in 9 months ago someone was grilling on their balcony a fire hazard was smoking so bad the neighbor downstairs from the grillers called security. Now 9 months later same neighbor is grilling. Doesn't even stay out there with the grill. Is in a corner so can't really see from their inside. However is annoying lots of monthly fleas as I call little fees. Trash, sewer, water, property tax, facilities, and flea billing are billed separately amounts to extra $100 a month. Then they itemize other fees in the rent such as washer and dryer but are not optional. I take my laundry to wash & fold every 6 weeks have enough so costs me $4.50 a week. Is not worth paying $50 a month for a washer and dryer. Moreover the washer is very noisy had to test make sure it works. Plus is agitator style wastes lots of water. At $50 per month should be a quiet front loader. Also many move-in details overlooked. They gave me a check list with 60 or so items. I found 20 needed attention. Plus a few light bulbs are incandescent not LED. So I replaced ones I could. The fridge was set on 50F. Wouldn't cool below 40F. Tim the awesome maintenance person came after hours vacuumed out a pound of dust. Now cools down to 32F but after stops warms back up to 45-50F. Had to put my Costco rotisserie chicken in freezer. Can't keep fresh meat in the fridge either. It slso runs a lot adding to the AC bill. A few minor quirks too. The breakfast bar only has a 2-3/4 inch overhang. Useless with a barstool unless have parallel. Is ok if awkward for just one person. Alas my work-from-home setup took over the dining area. I got a fold-up table and chair to eat outside on balcony until gets too cold or dark. Then use in a corner inside. Then the bedroom window overlooking the parking lot is only 12 inches above the floor. Yet there is 22 inches above the window minus a 6 inch header the window could have been 28 inches above the floor still a bit low. The corner bedroom is poorly insulated. During a winter windstorm actually felt a draft from east facing small window. Thus the bedroom can get cold at night with door closed as well as hot during the day in the summer. However on a plus note, they kept the pool open an extra 3 weeks with warm weather. Was awesome.
I lived here for a year and enjoyed the space. I lived in the unrenovated unit, although there are others that are renovated for an extra $200+ per month. I appreciated the space of the 1 bedroom unit which left me with the perfect amount and some for all of my gear and belongings. Maintenance crew is friendly and responsive. The amenities are also very nice if you use them. There were too many closures of facilities and even maintenance and downtime on my own unit which was unfortunate. I would hope that isn't a yearly occurrence. Upon move out I was hit with their standard charges which were over the top for me. They were hitting me with full charges for cleaning and touch ups even though I'd already done most of the work. The touch ups could have been done via maintenance request but I was denied that even though my lease wasn't even over. However, this is to be expected from your average apartment complex that puts business over the customer for convenience, so I'll round it up to an average rating. Great amenities and space, high price due to the area, average expectancy for customer service.
The Irving Schoolhouse Apartments staff has been extremely helpful. Joseph helped me select my apartment and complete the entire process. I have been extremely satisfied with the move-in experience and am looking forward to living at this beautiful complex with its outstanding amenities!
Irving Schoolhouse apartments is quite frankly the worst apartment I have ever lived at. I have never experienced depression, poor quality of life, sleep deprivation, or anxiety before living here. This apartment complex is almost like someone’s idea of a cruel scientific experiment in which, they try to see how much torture they can subject someone to before they buy out the lease. First off, the spiders. Not a day would go by that I wouldn’t find a spider. I asked the management if it was possible to get an exterminator. One was supposedly scheduled, but never came I took the day off to wait for them. I decided to give this another go after another couple months, and a new office staff was in place. Same results, took the day off work, waited…, nothing. It’s like they are trained to say yes we will take care of that for you, and then not do anything. The apartment complex also doesn’t do a very good job keeping things secured and cleaned up, despite its fees for common area maintenance. Many times I would go to my car, and someone would be going through the garbage. The garbage itself is always overflowing, and there is rarely enough room for everyone’s stuff. My apartment was not move-in ready. There was paint all over the floors, stains in the cabinets, poorly patched holes, and there was spider webs on everything. My furnace also didn’t work upon move-in, and broke again a few weeks later. Within the first few weeks, my tub overflowed from the sewer water was coming out of the drain. I had the pleasure of spending my Saturday afternoon cleaning it up. The noise is what ultimately did me in. A combination of high ceilings, lack of insulation, and extremely poor-quality laminate flooring causes the noises your neighbors make to be amplified tenfold. If you don’t believe me, just take a stroll on the laminate in the leasing office and imagine living under that. A step sounds like a stomp and stomp will make the walls shake. If someone above you gets up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, be prepared to get up with them. I tried 33 decibel earplugs and noise cancelling over ear headphones playing music, but nothing ever worked. I had two separate relatives stay with me to visit, and they both got so fed up they decided to fork out the money for a hotel. Despite contacting the office and trying to find a reasonable solution, such as transferring to another unit where the upstairs hadn’t been renovated, I was told I would need to spend an absorbent amount of money if I wanted to sleep again. Do your mental health a favor and just stay away. Stay far, far away.
We LOVE the location of Irving Schoolhouse Apartments! Right off the interstate as you come into town, straight across from great shopping and restaurants. Literally everything you could ever want is within walking distance. Hidden Hollow is right across the street, Sugarhouse Park is a beautiful and short walk away. A few blocks the other direction and you arrive at Westminster's campus. The apartments are really nice: tall ceilings, fireplaces, walk-in closets, open floor plans, and big windows. Maintenance responds quickly if you ever have any issues - and they're really nice guys too. The complex is fun and has a pool, a hot-tub, a gym, an indoor basketball court, a sauna, a game room, and a really nice clubhouse with wi-fi and a kitchen. We love living here!
Thank you Tim for fixing the dryer filter and your note as well. Take care and enjoy the season. Nancy Powers/827
Having a few things we needed fixed during Covid, we waited until we thought it was safe to have someone come in our apartment. We cannot tell you how fabulous it was to have Tim come in and efficiently and easily fix everything we needed. And more! He took the time to explain things to us and was so courteous and so helpful! Tim is truly an asset to your team and I hope he sticks around for a while! If we need anything else fixed in the future I know that we will, once again, have a speedy and efficient result. Thanks for the great communication, scheduling, and for Tim and his incredible abilities. 10/10.
Charge outrageous late fees, layout of the building is terrible, and the owners are anxious to evict anyone if they think they can get someone else in for cheaper. Avoid renting here
