Tl;dr Friendly, competent, honest, quick! Saw the other good reviews so I took my old rusty Land Cruiser to get an oil pan gasket replaced. It was not an easy job for me to DIY. These guys weren’t afraid to take it on, spent a lot of time making sure it was done right without causing any damage, and turned around the whole project in a day. The labor rate was reasonable and they didn’t mark up the part cost. Super impressed! I’ll be back.
Must say — these guys were fair and reasonable late on a Friday night. Probably saved me a lot of money by helping salvage a punctured tire instead of trying to make me get 4 new ones. Good service, reliable, and very fair pricing. Highly recommend if you ever have any car troubles.Service: General repairs & maintenance
I am sorry to report that Japanese Auto Care JAC is untrustworthy and should not be used. They refused to perform warranty work until after I first paid for a new starter to eliminate a grinding noise. I told them the starter was fairly new and there had been no noise prior to their work replacing my clutch and flywheel. They suggested that the noise had been there all along and that I was in effect lying. Since by this point I did not trust them, I took my car back to my regular repair shop which replaced the starter but, as I suspected, did not eliminate the noise. I returned to JAC which replaced the flywheel they had just installed, eliminating the noise. This second repair was covered by warranty. But they refused to reimburse me for any part of my extra cost replacing a good starter. Instead, the owner claimed they had offered to replace the starter for free if it did not eliminate the noise. This claim was false since I would readily have agreed to such a “no-lose” offer: if the starter proved bad, I would pay to replace it and if as I suspected it was not bad, then I would pay nothing. Nevertheless, the owner maintained this false claim and then left the shop. I would not trust them to do any work in the future.Service: Transmission
JAC really nailed our repairs on our 2012 prius, they did a fantastic job! They swiftly got us a diagnosis, parts ordered and work done super efficiently.
Unreasonable pricing and dodgy ownership. Parts were marked up an additional ~$50 and labor was marked up an additional ~$100-$150 per task by conservative estimate. Overpaid by about $400.
They were friendly and up front about pricing. Took my 2006 Civic there for a 90k mile service, they didn't try and up sell me. I'll definitely go back.
