Jaxson's Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant

Wonderful time at Jaxson's. This has been a special treat for me since I was a small child and they have been open for over 60 years. And I have been coming here 60 years! They make their own ice cream and have a full selection of regular meals to go with it. It is really a full-on experience to eat at Jaxson's. You really have to have a good appetite when you go to Jackson's because the portions are huge and the food is very good. I had a black cherry ice cream today that was full of cherries and absolutely delicious. Our son had a pound and a half hamburger and then an ice cream sundae. And my husband had an artillery dog which is a 1 pound hot dog made just for Jackson's and he's never made it to the ice cream he was too full.

Wow is not enough said. S. Fla landmark. If you haven't gone you should. Always enjoy! I should have taken a picture of my single scoop of praline pecan on a warm brownie with extra hot fudge (hold the whip cream and cherry - on a diet) but I am a sucker for the flattened penny souvenir. Get one everywhere I go...

Great place to have desserts and wonderful atmosphere to see how things were in the old days. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Large portions are made to share so bring your friends and family. We personally think the 'kitchen sink' can be shared by 8 because there's no way 4 people can finish that. The free popcorn is really nice and the kids loved it.

Vegetarian dinner? Surprisingly yes. Jaxson's has one of the best Black Bean burgers I've ever had (the other is a place called Crisp in NYC). That said, this is an ice cream place. Skip dinner (or half of it) to make sure there's room for one of the many ice cream treats. Service can be a little slow, as there's often a to go line outside competing for chef time. Popcorn while you wait, but don't fill up on it.

Do you want Ice Cream so fresh that it is made right on their premises? If so, here's somewhere you need to go! Yep, regular, low-fat tasty delicious! They also serve food too. They have been at the same location for over 50 years. And, even though the original owner has passed on the tradition of his Ice Cream lives on.
