As of Feb 2021 you no longer take a ticket and wait. There are only 5 people allowed inside at a time to wait so there is a line outside but it moves pretty quickly.
It's a DMV, so don't expect much. The lines are long and the communication is pretty rough when I went. Multiple people waited in line just to find out they had to do a sheriff's inspection before they waited in line. The staff inside was great though. I wish Kentucky would move more of this online.

Excellent: Manager was directing the customers, disinfecting chairs after each customer. Agent who was helping me, went out of the way to help me charge my phone so I can speak with my insurance company for insurance verification and did not have to come back.
Renewed my license tags about two weeks ago. Sign in window indicates that facility is open at 50% capacity, yet only 3 of 11 workstations were in use. Staff was organized, courteous and professional.
I know with Covid going on things are hiccups but don’t turn people away when the hours of operation state that it’s open until 430 and I got turned away at 4
