Dr Greenfield is the most humble, intelligent surgeon you will ever meet. He listens and makes sure how you feel, both emotionally and physically, are taken into consideration when making a plan for treatment. He is also very considerate on how your support persons are feeling. Dr Greenfield makes sure he takes the time with you to explain everything in ways you will understand. He gives you all of your options and time to carefully think about these things so you can make the best decision for yourself. Dr G is one of the most knowledgeable surgeons I have ever met. He is constantly learning! His knowledge doesn't stop with just the normal neurosurgeon things. He is extremely educated in other things that can play a huge role in your care such as EDS. His follow up is also top notch! I travel a little over 12 hours to see him. He always sends a quick message to make sure we made it home safely.

Dr Greenfield and his team are FANTASTIC! My 11 year old son and I traveled nearly 800 miles specifically to have Dr Greenfield preform the surgery for my son’s Chiari Malformation. We were definitely NOT disappointed! The surgery was flawless, My son’s recovery has been shockingly quick. Most of the symptoms which brought him in for surgery were gone 3 days post-op. All medical staff, including Doctor Greenfield himself, were happy to speak with us and answered any and all questions we had both pre and post op. It is not possible for me to recommend this gifted, hardworking surgeon and his team more!!

My daughter was recently diagnosed with IIH. Which has led to many doctor appointments in the last couple of weeks. Our visit with Dr Greenfield was by far the most informative, he explained the condition to her and mapped out a plan that we could all understand and did so in a way that calmed all of our fears. I appreciated all of the time he spent with us and the compassion he showed for my daughter.

I never want to have to have an appointment with a neurologist but with Dr Greenfield it’s more like visiting a really helpful friend. He’s an amazing surgeon and what he can accomplish in the operating room and beyond is remarkable but he doesn’t make the fact that what you’re medically having done as scary as you fear. I wouldn’t say he has great bedside manor, I’d say more like mansion than a manor. You can truly tell he cares and you leave your appointment, good or bad, feeling confident that you have someone on your side who’s going to do everything they can to make you better and make you feel as comfortable as possible. If you have begun devoting all of your spare time to understanding how best to navigate your child's Chiari, your path has undoubtedly led you to Dr. Greenfield for a variety of good reasons. We also had a great, detailed discussion in short order with Dr. Greenfield about all of our daughter's specific considerations and timelines. Certainly taken aback by the willingness to work with, and help us!

Dr. Greenfield has been extremely sweet and accomodating. I will be having surgery with him very soon but he has made me feel so comfortable. Everyone in the office has been helpful and the PA Amanda has been super helpful.

Thorough and trustworthy with a calm disposition that defused any anxiety I had going into brain surgery. He and Amanda are wonderful and responsive. I am thankful to have traveled far and wide for the very best!

Dr Greenfield is knowledgeable, patient, and caring. He strives to provide the best care for his patients and always wants families to leave his office feeling well informed and listened to. Highly recommend.

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about Dr. Greenfield. He actually listens to you about what is going on, takes his time talking to you to make sure you know everything in a way you can understand, doesn’t push you into anything, and has the best bedside manner ever. I completely trusted him with my daughter and it’s clear to me he was the best doctor to help her with her Chiari. He was fabulous through the surgery and after as well. We will definitely only see him if any of our children needs a neurosurgeon. We did have to travel and it is not cheap to go to New York City, but when you are talking about your child’s brain you will make it work. I am so happy we found Dr Greenfield and do not know what we would have done without him.

Dr. Greenfield was understanding, patient and took his time explaining everything to my 16 year old daughter. He was very thorough and we did not feel like we were “just another patient”. His entire staff made us feel at ease and we’re very friendly.
