This place will surprise you. It’s fairly small, for about 15 people including 5 seats at the bar. Interior represents the vibe of East Village. Lots of small souvenirs, photos make you feel like inside a friend’s house. Especially if you’re welcomed by the owner, Christine, who will carefully guide you through the menu and suggest the best dish for your type of hunger. The food... I didn’t expect it to be so tasty! And my expectations were high. Sweet potato fries were the best I ever tried in my life. The beef salad had so many elements that combined together made for a surprising experience. And prices are absurdly low for that kind of food quality in Big Apple. This place is perfect for having a meal out in a comfortable home-like environment, when you just don’t feel like cooking home or want to surprise someone visiting the city. Last tip: try the pork belly dish. Didn’t get it myself but heard some very good recommendations.
Jia brings "home" cooking levels up with creative dishes prepared to perfection! The pork belly was simply awesome. The salmon was tasty, not over- or under-cooked. The brussel sprouts with cranberries exquisite. The pulled-pork sandwich and sweet potato fries were a delicious combination. The bread pudding was arguably one of the best we've ever tasted. And the pumpkin pannacotta the perfect finish to a seasonal fall dessert. Portions were perfectly sized. Nice selection of beer and wine. More than just a small LES restaurant, the owner treats all guests like family coming "home".
My husband and I had the pork belly, and the meatloaf . Excellent . Great flavor. Christine owner is very nice and friendly. Not a lot of tables but very comfortable. We can’t wait to come back and try the other items on the menu! Real comfort food !
Newly opened and great fusion food, cosy atmosphere for lounging and drinking
We stumbled in there randomly with younger kids. The place is cozy and inviting. The owner is genuinely nice made the kids fresh lemonade when she ran out of Sprite. The food was as she describes in menu: delicious comfort food with different cultures and tastes blended. Think Italian and SE Asia. Great spot.
Their garlic butter fries are amazing, I can't recommend them enough. I'm currently on vacation from San Francisco and this is the first restaurant I tried after landing. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. Came in for lunch and liked it so much I had it delivered for dinner. I would also recommend the Thai beef salad.
The meatloaf sliders and side salad were awesome. The garlic butter fries were better than they. Addicting. First time we had unfiltered sake, delicious and creamy. Quality. Will go again.
Such amazing service and a beautiful cozy location not only leaves you full of amazing food but full of love. I have never walked out of a place so full in my life. Each item on the menu is bursting with flavour. I highly recommend a visit. If you are lucky you will get a window seat on a beautiful day the front window right up!
Cozy restaurant that serves delicious fare. Owner and staff are very attentive and welcoming. Tried multitude of dishes starting with edamame, mozzarella sticks, followed by yummy Thai Beef salad; with entree of flavorful oxtail stew that saves you the work of working around the bone so you can scarf down the meat that taste like it's been stewed for hours on end, with fluffy rice, and moist and perfectly sweet teriyaki salmon. In case you're looking for more, the garlic fries, fried Brussels sprouts, and sauteed seasonal greens were standouts on its own. Your belly will not be disappointed. Be forewarned, you will surely end up in a satisfying food coma!
Delicious food, simple yet interesting menu, reasonable prices.
