Jiang Nan offers a refined yet approachable dining experience with delicate and balanced flavors. I especially loved the sliced Pork Belly with Mashed Garlic. The Peking Duck was also great, though a bit fattier than what you'd find in Beijing. The Shrimp with Dragon Well Tea was just okay—it lacked tea flavor and tasted mostly like boiled baby shrimp. Overall, everything was good.
Solid dishes at this flushing Chinese restaurant. Just 2 of us otherwise I’d have tried many more dishes. The boiled chicken was excellent. XLB very flavorful. Salted egg prawns were not my favorite but not bad! I’ll be back.Food: 5/5
All the dishes were so good, like honestly. . The fried vermicelli has very good “wok hei” smoky flavour and aroma and the boiled chicken in chilli sauce is so flavourful that we even dip our salted fried prawn in it. The soup dumpling was just so so because of its thicker skin and evaporated soup ? Price was very reasonable in a nice setting and the service was great.
Had a great experience at Jiang Nan in Flushing! The ambiance was fantastic, starting with the beautiful entrance featuring a water fountain and dragon, which immediately set a welcoming vibe. My fiancée and I began with a quick beer and ordered the pork soup dumplings as a snack. They were tasty, but nothing too extraordinary. We also tried the home-style crispy fish as an appetizer. It was delicious at first but became a bit too oily as we kept eating. For the entrée, the stir-fried cauliflower with pork belly was excellent—perfectly cooked and flavorful. The seafood fried rice was a highlight, pairing wonderfully with the main dishes. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, though some items could have been a bit lighter. Would definitely return for the ambiance and a few standout dishes!
This is an amazing Chinese restaurant in Flushing. We visited on our first night in NYC. What a great start to our trip. The wait staff were attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and tastefully presented. We enjoyed every minute of our dining experience and would love to return to try some more of the items on the extensive menu.
Total Score: 9.40 Bathroom: 4.5/5. It was a very nice bathroom with great decor! However, I despise the paper just being out there flat like it’s so annoying to wipe your hands Customer Service: 5/5. They frequently cleaned trash from our table, swapped our plates for clean ones, and checked up on us. Ambiance: 5/5. Lots of decorations, very bright lighting, and lots of room! Furthermore they had like replaceable chopstick heads which was p sleek. This was also part of gentrified flushing, so maybe that says something about me. Food: 4.5/5. The food was amazing! No complaints at all! Food was juicy, and the right amount of spice! However I wish they gave more slices of pancakes for our peking duck. They charged us more for asking for more slices… Wow: 1/1. Really wowed me in service and food! Total Score = BR + CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW
I had a fantastic meal at Jiangnan Flushing recently. It was my first time trying the Roasted Duck with Rice and Vegetable Spinach, and it was amazing. The duck was cooked perfectly with a crispy skin and tender meat. The rice was fluffy and soaked up the delicious duck flavors, and the spinach was fresh and tasty. The restaurant itself is cozy and nicely decorated, making you feel comfortable. The staff were friendly and took care of us well, adding to the great experience. This was my second visit to Jiangnan Flushing with my boyfriend, and it was just as good as the first time. The food is always excellent and satisfying. We highly recommend this restaurant. The Roasted Duck with Rice and Vegetable Spinach is a must-try, and we’re looking forward to coming back for more.
Jiang Nan, located in the heart of Flushing, New York, offers a classy and contemporary take on Chinese cuisine. During our visit, we sampled a variety of dishes, each with its unique flavors and presentation. Okra in Garlic Sauce The okra was fresh and cooked perfectly. The garlic sauce complemented the dish well without overpowering the delicate flavor of the okra, making it a delightful start to our meal. Sautéed Eggplant in Spicy Garlic Sauce This dish, however, was a bit of a miss for me. The sauce was overly sweet and too dark, overshadowing the eggplant. Despite this, the portion of eggplant was generous. Stir-Fried Boneless Chicken with Chili Pepper A close relative to Kung Pao Chicken, this dish replaces peanuts and celery with peppers. The flavor profile is similar, with a satisfying balance of spice and tenderness in the chicken. Bacon & Vegetable Fried Rice This dish was solid but unremarkable. It met expectations for a standard fried rice, providing a comforting, familiar taste. Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings Comparable in quality to those at Nan Xiang, another nearby restaurant, these dumplings were delicious and satisfying. They offered a rich broth and tender pork filling. Peking Duck Half Order The Peking Duck was a highlight, served with the traditional steamed rice wrappers and a selection of toppings and sauces. Interestingly, sliced pineapples were included, adding a sweet twist to the classic dish. The duck itself was succulent, crispy, and juicy—everything you'd expect from a well-prepared Peking Duck. Deep-Fried Japanese Tofu with Mixed Seafood This was the star of the evening for me. Served on a sizzling plate, the tofu and seafood were drizzled with sauce right at the table, creating a visually impressive and aromatic experience. The dish was a perfect 10/10, with every bite bursting with flavor. Pineapple Beer Served in a transparent barrel with dry ice underneath, the presentation of the pineapple beer was spectacular. It added a touch of mysticism and a wow factor to our dining experience. Service and Ambiance The servers were attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The service pace was just right—not too fast but not slow either. The ambiance of Jiang Nan is inviting and upscale, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a refined Chinese dining experience. Conclusion Jiang Nan is a must-visit spot in Flushing for anyone looking to enjoy a range of Chinese dishes in an elegant setting. From the perfectly cooked okra to the impressive deep-fried Japanese tofu with mixed seafood, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Highly recommended!
Jiang Nan was largely the same amazing food quality as the one in Boston. Atmosphere and service were exceptional. The staff were gracious with accompanying a medium-sized group without a reservation and they provided great care when taking care of us.Food: 5/5
I had an amazing experience at Jiang Nan. It's traditional Chinese cuisine but done exceedingly well. I went with a party of 5 and everything we ordered was amazing! I highly recommend getting some xiao long bao, lamb on sizzling plate, and the smoked pork neck meat. Be sure to make a reservation as they are very busy!Food: 5/5
