The staff was friendly and the food was great. It gets very loud and the restrooms are only single stalls for both men and women's restrooms, so lines form quickly. The jambalaya was incredible. The fried green tomatoes were yummy, especially with the shrimp and sauce. The gumbo was good. The trout tchoupatuilas was tasty, as well. The kids' popcorn shrimp was good in taste and quantity. All entree sizes were very generous. The blackberry cobbler is the best I've had at a restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Coloring sheet with crayons, several meal options we got the shrimp and it was a lot of food, and High chairs. Parking: Parking is crazy because of location, especially if they're special events going on.
Delicious! Our waiter was very attentive and service was quick! You walk In and immediately get a cozy home style restaurant feel. The food was delicious! Not pictured is the hamburger steak my boyfriend devoured. The egg plant as great, i wish i would have gotten it as a meal. My only complaint was the trout was just slightly over cooked. Definitely give it a try!
This is a must visit in New Orleans. If you're a foodie or just looking for a great place to eat, this is the restaurant to visit. I started with the fried green tomatoes and they were the best I've ever had. The entree was something is usually don't order but that's about to change. I ordered the trout tchoupitoulas. I was full about 3/4 of the way but it was so good I finished it. Lightly floured and topped with shrimp and crab meat, you almost can't go wrong. I highly recommend this place. Staff is friendly, dress is casual, prices are fair.
We were referred to this place by another local business and couldn’t have been happier. The appetizers, eggplant and crab beignets were phenomenal. I highly recommend the trout and for dessert the black berry cobbler, however I’m sure you couldn’t go wrong with anything you order here. Cheers to being incredibly stuffed!
The food and customer service was great! It was our first stop when we first arrived in Nola! We ordered the catfish tacos, fried chicken, and 1/2 combo shrimp po’boy and jambalaya. We also enjoyed cold beers and a magazine mule!Dine in: Yes
Great experience. Restaurant was busy but we were able to be sat immediately. Great atmosphere Food tasted amazing - the gumbo was true Louisiana gumbo. The beignets we're more like hush puppies with a different breading, and tasted amazing! Loved it! Got the trout - great taste and flaky. Large portion size with good amount of shrimp. Overall great experience!
The bartender was quick and heavy on the pour that made for great drinks. Our food came out super quick and very hot. The red beans and rice were very tasty, the crab and corn bisque was amazing; however, the eggplant Napoleon was the best. The shrimp was fried to perfection and the eggplant was prepared to perfection. This is our new place to have a great time.
Overall an okay experience. Wife's salmon salad and son's catfish were good. Onion rings were cold and sauce stagnant. Gumbo was not traditional. Wasn't bad per se, but it was as if someone from the North made it.
TIP: Get the apple cobbler - see pic! Everyone at our table agreed it is the best apple pie dishany of us have ever had. It was out of this world. Apples were soft, but not mushy... perfectly cooked. Filling was not too sweet and the crust was not overdone. I would go back just to have that dessert again... no joke.
I ordered chicken fried steak. It was amazing! I'm an international student from Russia, and so far this is the best restaurant food I had in America in three years. Taste is very balanced. It's just perfect. And the prices are very reasonableDine in: Yes
