Joslyn Art Museum

Beautiful. Small. Free. Varied. Quiet. Friendly. Impressive building, not really big. Architecture 👍🏻. Art nice, some of it very good. Not a lot. The expo on hunting & fishing is quite traditional. The modern and American-Indian art is really good and interesting. As is the sculpture garden. The place was extremely quiet, Sunday noon. Nice. Friendly staff. No access fee. European art not available. Bit of a downer.

This is a beautiful and wonderful museum. Just the architecture is fantastic and they have a great selection of artwork. My favorite is the Impressionist room and the other European art galleries. They also have a large selection of American art and ancient art. I have been here several times and I always try to go when I am in the area.

I stopped in on a Friday afternoon. Free admission. The staff was very nice & asked if I had visited before which I told him I did not. He then explained everything on the map & really made me feel welcomed. The exhibits were great. I am so happy I had the time to visit while passing through Omaha.

A beautiful, impressive, and quality art museum. Fantastic permanent collection displayed in a monument to art-deco architecture. It's hard to beat the free admission to a most impressive high art collection. The building itself is worth the visit alone. The staff is courteous and friendly. You can elect a move-at-your-own-pace self-guided tour. The placards provide good information on each piece to help you get the most or of your visit. Non-flash, non-professional photography is allowed, so bring your phone and snap away.

The last time I was here had to have been more than eleven years ago since that is how long it has been since my youngest daughter has been home to see her grandpa ... she really wanted to see the displays since she couldn't remember ever having seen them. She was not disappointed which is saying something since she's been to most of the major European museums. On a completely different level I was delighted to have a conversation with someone there about the efforts y'all are making to not use single-use plastic in your dinning area ... kudos for caring enough to take steps in the right direction.
