You would never - in 1 million years - expect to see a place like this. And what I mean by "like this" is the fact that it offers all five-star, unbelievable, completely fresh prepared food in a well-maintained buffet environment at $11.99 a pound. As you walk around the store, it's shocking to see that some of the prices are less expensive than in Westchester County. It might be because of the proximity to Chinatown, but you'll see some photos, like turmeric in perfect pieces for $5.99 per pound. Good luck finding that price anywhere. Period. The entryway makes it look so unassuming that if you don’t know it’s there, you would probably never walk in. But please trust me, it is definitely worth the visit.
Buffet is fresh steaming hot and usually very good albeit pricey.
Great local grocery. Excellent produce that’s continually improved over the years. Wide selection. Decent selection of grocery items, albeit at high prices. Nice eggs - only spot I can find AA Eggs. Meat and Seafood department severely lacking.
This supermarket provides a straightforward and reliable shopping experience. The well-organized layout facilitates easy navigation, and the absence of self-checkout doesn't hinder the efficient checkout process, thanks to the dedicated staff. The product selection covers a wide range of essentials, ensuring you can find what you need without fuss. The store maintains a clean and orderly environment, contributing to a no-nonsense shopping atmosphere. The staff, while not overly expressive, are consistently helpful and professional. Competitive pricing makes it a cost-effective choice for everyday needs. While there might be room for improvement in the availability of certain specialty items, the supermarket delivers on the basics. In conclusion, if you're seeking a practical and reliable place to fulfill your grocery needs without the bells and whistles of promotions or loyalty programs, this supermarket offers a straightforward solution.
I go there frequently. It's super convenient, however you need to make sure to check receipt as they frequently overcharge for groceries. Also produce is def bit overpriced. I just got back today and realized they charged me twice for a certain produce and charged me for higher priced variety of tomatoes. This is done quite regularly if not checked.
They weigh your food after getting it and then force you to pay for it if you don’t want it. Everything in here is over priced. The Asian guy i think he’s the manager. forced me to pay for something i didn’t want. It’s sad because i have been going there for years but i will never go in there again. I always go there every morning to buy my breakfast and i changed my mind but the man told me i couldn’t and had to pay for it. Terrible customer service.
When paying with cash, check the change. I paid for a purchase with a 100 dollar bill and the cashier gave me the wrong change with 50 dollars missing. Be careful when paying in cash, check your change.
Sandwiches made with care by Ernesto were amazing. The Smokey or California. Went three times during my stay. Everyone there is friendly!
The guy that makes breakfast sandwiches is a terrible person. We walked in at 10:29 and were told that breakfast is over at 10:30 and that they wouldn't make us breakfast. After feeling defeated, we decided that we would settle for lunch instead. After attempting to order lunch, we were then notified that lunch doesn't start until 11! Give me a break, this gentleman needs an attitude adjustment
They consistently play loud music during irregular hours after 10pm to 7am which blasts through the floors of 99 John St the John Deco Lofts which is directly above them. Will be reporting to management of the building of 99 John. This is not acceptable for a supermarket which services this large residential building above them. Especially the 2nd floor apartments are regularly woken up by this careless behavior.
