Big and well air-conditioned and mostly clean see my edit. What's the opposite of a business that's crowded with employees? Zeytuna is that at 2pm on a Thursday. I see #ginseng sold in various sections of this store. I assume it's for all the professionals in #FiDi, trying to keep their energy up. There seems to be a downstairs seating area too. I'm removing a star because I see flattened cardboard in one section and that's next to a wet floor; the floor is more than just damp and the liquid is yellowish. This is near the Quadratini wafers and Pellegrino water bottles The flattened cardboard is right where a customer could walk
Fresh but expensive, local market . Great pastry and cheese selection.
The food court had many options but the food left something to be desired. The store above had good coffee and the pastries weren't bad but the overall prices were hard for me to swallow. It's seen better days but my 2 stars is mainly for the restaurant section on the lower level.
Love this place! Upstairs is a gourmet deli with excellently prepared food, high quality produce, fish and meat. Not cheap but fair prices for the quality. Very good cheese section, albeit on the smaller side. Downstairs there is also a huge hot food and salad bar for lunch with great selections - many of the same prepared dishes available in the deli upstairs.
Grocery = 0 stars / Lunch = 5 star Grocery: I've been doing my grocery shopping here for a while simply for convenience - it's the closest to my apt. Definitely a little pricey but that's not what makes shopping here so unpleasant. They usually don't have simple things like cans of black beans, the smell of the seafood section is so off-putting and is slowly permeating the rest of the store - clean it up, seriously!! and their employees are so unfriendly. The guy at the butcher and seafood counters yes only one for both which makes for long waits is super unfriendly. The cashiers are the slowest people ever and have clearly never received training as they put your delicate items on the bottom of the bags and your heavy items on top. They're also unfriendly and couldn't care less about their job - they pause ringing you up to chat with each other or on their phones. Zeytuna really needs a new manager.... The downstairs area for lunch on the weekdays is such a different story. Awesome salad bar and lots of other choices including pizza, sandwiches, soups, sushi, tacos etc. Lots of good heathy options. Cashiers are super quick so the long lines go really fast. Highly recommend for lunch!
My review is based on the downstairs food court situation. I thought the food was fine and reasonably priced. I'd be willing to come back and try what else they had. I wasn't too adventurous with my choice, going with a chicken parm hero but it was quite good. Also it's rare in NYC to find places with many food options and many tables… but there's good variety and a good amount of seating here. And there's still enough space between tables where you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbors. It's a good space.
So much stuff to find for any occasion here! I have met a friend for lunch in the downstairs area and had some very delicious food. I also really like to stop by here on the way to work to pick up snacks and other things for during the day! I love the selection of pastries and prepared salads. The staff I have interacted with are friendly and always helpful when I need help finding something specific. Don't be intimidated by the lines around the noon hour - it goes really fast and you should be able to easily find a seat in the large dining area!
So I been here for breakfast a couple times now and it's consistent and tasty. There's a buffet upstairs and downstairs and the eggs are some of the best I have had off a buffet style setup. The sausage links are yummy as well!
Delicious food and the prices are ok to be in this area. Quick service and friendly people.
Food court with a wide array of healthy food options, from salad bars to Italian to fresh sushi made on premises, across from the New York Federal Reserve bank. It's a handy and more economical dining option for tourists and office workers alike within a few blocks of South Street Seaport and the Financial District. Recommended.
