We’ve had several omakase experiences in New York, and this was the most fun and delicious. The sushi counter has its own floor upstairs, with two chefs serving ten seats. The lighting and music were both low key but endearing. The experience was intimate and classic at the same time. Every serving had layers of succulent flavors in its own category, standing out from the rest and really taking us on a journey through the evening about 2 hours per seating. Some of these servings were complete show-stoppers - the king salmon, for instance, was so tender and flavorful that we shut our eyes and just experienced pure taste for half a minute at a time. This was a killer date night and the staff and chefs were spectacular. Highly recommended, but prepare to pay top dollar for the quality.
Extraordinary omakase for New Years. Sushi boss was funny and amazing! Catered to our wishes. When we come back to NY this is our go to. They have a speakeasy. I would say this place is a hidden gem:
Some of the best sushi I’ve had in NYC. We had some delicious drinks in their unique underground bar called Straylight. The decor and ambiance was fantastic and the fish was incredibly fresh and tasty.
Juku is an absolutely incredible experience. The food is astonishing and easily Michelin-star worthy even the fried chicken was the best we have ever had. The service is the best of the best, truly defines the top-tier of elegance. My family and I have never had a meal or experience like Juku in a restaurant ever before. The vibe is immaculate as interesting art hangs in every corner, mood lighting illuminates your company, and an upbeat but relaxed beat will make you subconsciously groove in your seat. You can bring any sea-food adverse person here and they will quickly change their tune. The seafood at Juku is masterfully sourced and is so fresh there is absolutely no “fishy” taste to their expertly crafted Sushi. I can’t rave about this place highly enough. There is no other restaurant in Manhattan like Juku. Treat yourself and make a reservation this weekend.
One of the best Omakase experiences in NYC. Quality of fish is unreal & professionalism and skill of the Sushi chefs is top notch.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: No
Top tier omakase joint that's all part of a connected, sit-down restaurant and speakeasy on different floors. Everyone from the sushi chefs to the staff are extremely knowledgeable. Especially loved Eugene's recommendations on sake and natural wines to complement our meal.
Blown away by this place. Really excellent food and experience. Staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. I did the main floor and speakeasy. Try this sake: Ken
Has gone downhill since pandemic. Bar entrance now merged with the upstairs restaurant, and going downstairs to the bar it just didn’t have the same fun energy as before. Cocktails weren’t being made downstairs like before, and took 15 mins for cocktails to come out. Good spot for a quick drink.
Awesome! Waitstaff super friendly with loads of recommendations. Also attentive... we order a bottle of Brooklyn Kura... made sure our cups went empty... We ordered the Omakase. Wanted to also add fried chicken and 2 scallops and unis. Waitstaff recommended to order omakase first as it was a lot of food...he was right!
Best Omakase, best service, best drinks and the best vibe! I've been dreaming of Kazuo's phenomenal sushi since I had it in 1or8 ages ago in 2015-2016 . I've been following on insta for years dreaming to experience the incredibly buttery and out of this world flavor and sushi in person and I finally did! Proof that it was sooo good? I didn't take any photos because I was present, enamoured and ready for the next bite.
