Kaplan International English - Portland

As a former host for a couple students at Kaplan, I will just say that the quality of education here is very poor and it's quite expensive. A far better bet would be to enroll in programs at PSU or Portland Community College. They have great programs. You can also get a far better deal on a place to stay than what Kaplan will offer which is limited and the school also takes a rather large portion that the students pay for a home stay. As a former teacher, I am familiar with curriculum and their's leaves a lot to be desired.

Please avoid this school. They don't look out for students. They are only out to make money. Especially avoid housing placement! You might find yourself place up to an hour away from school. They also don't require placement homes to have WiFi even though much of their curriculum is online. They say they have internet for student use but the school closes at 5:30. They will tell you "You can study at Starbucks."

I have attended Kaplan back in 2014 it's relatively expensive and it's not the best in Portland, but the teachers and the people in front desk are very friendly.
