My daughter has been in this school since she is 3 years old, and she did a full-time Kindergarten program here. She is currently in 1st grade now, and still goes here for after-school program and summer camp. My daughter is a happy trilingual child (We speak Japanese at home). I'm often asked how come I don't speak any Chinese when kids are speaking in fluent Chinese! Instructors combine music, movements and language learning together. Kids sing in Chinese and English as they dance with music. It is really fun and and effective. Children always get a lot of compliments when they perform in the public culture events. The school is located next to a nature park. My children also enjoy summer camp program here each year as there are a lot of outdoor activities to engage children in hand-on experiments. I love the mixed age group. Older children help younger ones and younger children learn from big brothers and sisters. It is a nice and supportive environment for everyone. Great school!

This is a Chinese immersion preschool for ages 3 through kindergarten. There are wonderful teachers. The main teacher is so patient, kind and very consistent. She teaches the children Chinese poems, songs and does tons of crafts (both Chinese and American holiday themed). The children also does performances at the Chinese Garden and Convention Center for Chinese holidays. The setting is small and intimate, which is very good for those kiddos who need a little bit more attention. She is also very accommodating when it comes to the schedule, as long as her teacher:student ratio works. It has been a great experience for my kiddo who has been going since he was 3 yrs old.

My daughter has been attending Oregon Hope Chinese Saturday School since we moved here a few years ago. She started in Level 1 and is currently in Level 3. The classes are held in our neighborhood public school. The location is very convenient and the facility is great. I'm very happy we found this school when we moved here. It provided a great opportunity for my daughter to learn Chinese reading, writing, and more importantly, to keep connected with her cultural heritage. The curriculum is well designed for America-born Chinese children. Teachers are very passionate and responsible because most of them also enrolled their children in the school. Besides Chinese, the Saturday school also offers Chinese painting, martial arts, and dance. I have been enjoying the adult dance classes very much and we have been invited to perform in Lansu Garden and the convention center in celebration of Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn festivals every year.

My son is currently attending this great small private Chinese immersion school and we couldn't be happier. The school is a house that offers a small setting that is exactly what we were looking for. The teachers are very attentive and the owner is extremely flexible with the hours and scheduling. Each morning the kids are dropped according to the paren't schedule and there are no strict time attendance or penalties. The kids have free play time before circle time and often there are arts & craft activities that vary in theme. Weather permitting, the school has a huge back yard with plenty of play structures for the kids to enjoy. My son has been going there for 6 months now and we can really notice his growth and understanding of Mandarin. If you are looking for small private, home school setting with a chance your kids to learn Mandarin then I highly recommend you give this school a chance. The parents or child are not required to be of Chinese origin as quite a few of the families are not, including us.
